They would've slept in but one of the house-elves woke them up. The elf was shaking, and her voice was higher than usual, most likely meaning that she was scared, but both teens just thanked her and hurried out of the house.

Louis, and (Y/N) got dressed and got to Kings Cross Station at time, where they reunited with Leo and Sam. Both of them had changed as well, Sam's hair changed to dreadlocks, which were styled like a bun. (Y/N) thought she looked beautiful.

Leo had let his hair grow, and now the back of his hair was longer than the front, and his jawline was more defined than ever. (Y/N) swore that if she touched it, she would get a cut.

Regulus was nowhere to be seen, which was quite rare considering that he was the most punctual out of their friend group. Said boy arrived about 10 minutes later, accompanied by an annoying older brother and two scary-looking parents.

Since (Y/N) and he talked with the mirror, she already knew what he looked like. He was taller, his skin was ghostly white and he had purple and very noticeable eye bags under his eyes. His appearance worried the girl.

His father and mother turned their backs on the group of 15-year-olds. When Regulus noticed his friends, a small grin made its way onto his face and he waved at them subtly.

The gesture passed unnoticed by his parents, who were telling Sirius something. After some uncomfortable moments of Regulus nervously averting his gaze from his parents to his friends, both adults left. The two brothers parted ways without saying a word to each other, each of them going to their respective friend groups.

"Hey, Reggie. How was your summer?" (Y/N) smiled.

Regulus was about to reply when the Hogwarts Express arriving at the station interrupted him. "I'll tell you on the train."

The group of friends had to fight their way for an empty compartment, and since Professor McGonagall wasn't there to give them detention, they may have pushed some first years. And miraculously, they found what they were looking for; as always, the moment Sam sat down in the seat near the window, Salem climbed on her lap.

The ride to Hogwarts was boring, but she was used to it. They only talked about their summer experiences, as well as changing out of normal clothes and into their robes, except this time she had something new to her attire: a shiny prefect badge. When she went back to the compartment, her friends questioned her about it and she very proudly showed off her new accessory. Since she was the first to go change, she was fairly surprised when Regulus came back with a badge as well.

(Y/N) knew that he was an excellent student, and she was proud that they would be completing their duty together. But instead of entering the compartment and then sitting down, he reminded the girl that they had to "go the prefect area" or something along those lines. But Sam was just telling them a story about her falling on top of a guy in her summer camp, and she was just getting to the funny part...

So she begged Regulus to stay there, and he hesitantly agreed. He seriously had to work on his abilities to say no to the girl, but the excited hug she gave him afterward made it worth it.

That interaction reminded her about her worries, and even if she desperately wanted to ask Regulus about his appearance, she stopped herself. He already told you that it's nothing. Maybe his parents have those features since Sirius has them too. Yeah, that must be it, just genetics, she thought just as the train reached its destination.

They got to the great hall before the first years, and it looked exactly the same as it had last year, with the exception of the sorting hat being in the wooden stool. Professor McGonagall entered the room, followed by a bunch of small people.

"Before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say some words." Professor McGonagall presented, while the headmaster stood up from his chair. (Y/N) let out a tiny groan, they did the same thing every single year, and the worst thing is that Dumbledore's speech was always the same, no going to the Forbidden Forest, the Yule ball, bla, bla.

"As always, the Forbidden forest is completely out of limits but this year, and the Yule Ball will take place on Christmas Eve. Let the Sorting Ceremony begin!" Dumbledore sat down on his chair once again, with a cheery smile below his silver beard.

The rest of the voices hushed down, and that way the Sorting Ceremony began. The first years got up to the stool individually and got the hat placed on their heads.

The hat sorting each kid to each house was the only thing that could be heard, and it took about 20 minutes for the start-of-term feast to start. The delicious-looking food was gone from their initial plates in seconds, most of it taken by hungry older students (Louis being one of them), and the feast ended as quickly as it had started.
