Fall was the best season, the way the green leaves turned into warm tones such as orange or red was beautiful. The fresh air and warm sunshine combined perfectly, making the weather perfectly balanced: not too cold and not too hot.

(Y/N) was a fall fanatic, she enjoyed how visually pleasing Hogwarts looked. The occasional rain gave everything a dramatic tone to every conversation she had, and boy did she love it.

So you can imagine her happiness when fall arrived. She was sitting in between Sam and Louis in the astronomy tower, hearing Professor Sinistra's astronomy teachings so far away yet close at the same time, she had a perfect view of all the school.

Unfortunately for her, that class was shared with Gryffindor. And that wasn't the only one, most classes were actually shared with them this year: were professors trying to mend the rivalry between both houses?

The class was normally interesting, but today was apparently the exception. That, of course, until the topic went from the moons of Jupiter to a team assignment that would be worth about 40 percent of the final grade.

Wait a minute, a team group? (Y/N)'s head left the miniature figure of Hagrid and moved to look at the Professor. She was explaining a new project that was due days before Christmas.

"The project consists of doing a model of the position of the stars and their names, no magic allowed," The teacher explained. "I will select the teams, and yes, both houses will be working together. Maybe that way you kids will learn to get along, for once. Any questions?"

At the silence, Professor Sinistra smiled and brought her hands together. "Great. So the teams are Samantha Davies and Alice Fortescue, Marlene McKinnon and Dorcas Meadowes, James Potter and Lily Evans, Peter Pettigrew and Louis Bramhall," Louis' face went so red that (Y/N) had to stop herself from laughing. But her joy was short-lived, as Professor Sinistra continued saying the teams. "(Y/N) Alaris and Sirius Black."

Both fourth year's eyes went wide, turning their heads to look at each other. (Y/N) raised her hand, interrupting the teacher.

"Yes, Ms. Alaris?" She was not impressed at the sudden interruption and raised her eyebrows.

"Can I have another partner? Please."

"No change in partners, sorry." The adult continued to announce the teams. (Y/N) hated Sirius, and she was sure he would contribute nothing. The teacher continued to call out names, ending with Sam getting paired with some guy named Frank.

Sirius and herself were on opposites sides of the classroom and neither of them was willing to move. Sam sighed, "Why arent are you moving?"

"I'm not moving to be with him. He should move to be with me."

"For Merlin, just move. Look, his friend is telling him the same," Sam pointed to where Sirius was sitting. And as always, she was right: Remus was trying to get Sirius to move.

"I really don't want to," Sam glared at her, and that alone made the girl agree to move seats. "Fine, sorry. I'm moving now." (Y/N) pressed her books to her chest and walked to sit next to the black-haired boy with a huff.

"Alright. How should we start, what materials?" The girl asked as soon as she sat down, trying to come up with better ideas than the rest of the class.

Sirius had his head laying on the desk, with both his arms around it, nodding absentmindedly at every suggestion she made. They all sounded too complicated, which basically translated to the two of them having to spend time together even outside classes.
