Adhara POV
I was standing at the edge of another moving staircase when my brother, James, came up to me and just smiled at me an odd glint in his eyes, I was getting scared, so I asked.
'Okay Mr what is it?'
I jumped up onto the staircase I was having some trouble with and watched him seamlessly saunter onto it. Gritting my teeth, I stared at him expecting an answer.
'Well?'
'What do you think of Sirius Black?'
I looked at him curiously racking my mind for that name but only remembering Lily and Marlene talking about whether unicorns or phoenixes were better. I laughed at the thought since Lily ended up spilling her pumpkin juice on Marlene over it. Just remembering her blonde hair streaked with an orange sticky sweet paste made me laugh.
'Okay Addy, you don't know Sirius Black?'
'No James I do not know "Sirius Black" who on earth is he?'
I mocked him.
'Sweet baby sister- '
'I am the same age as you!'
'yes, but your mental age is so young, anyway, Sirius Black is the boy who dropped you on the train!'
I let my wand clatter on the stone floor.
'what?'
My voice dangerously low. I raised my eyebrows at James hoping that he was playing one of his pranks.
'Woah there Addy no need to get so angry there! You see he is my friend along with Petey and Remus Lupin the boy you saw me helping his trunk onto the train.'
'Oh, okay then. Well, I would love to meet them bring them into the common room and I will bring mine into the common room as well.'
I was happy for the most part but in the back of my mind I was hoping- no PRAYING that James was not being serious and just happened to know about me getting dropped on the train. I swear on Merlin's beard if James had to go and make friends with that raven haired boy or I suppose Sirius black is what I should call him now (what kind of dumb name is Sirius), I will strangle him with my own bare hands.
I raced up the stairs (luckily none of them moved to fast for me) and into my dorm room only to be met with Lily, Marlene and another girl sitting on the unoccupied bed.
'Hello!' she said in a sweet voice.
I waved and greeted her.
'Hi! My name is Adhara, Adhara Potter I see you have met Lily and Marlene! What is your name?'
'Woah pretty, like the star?'
'Yup!'
'Cool! My name is Mary, Mary Macdonald.'
'I always loved the name Mary! Anyway, I now deem you to also be one of my friends. So, we are all going down to the common room to meet up with my brother and his friends okay? So, chop chop and get dressed you three.'
They all groaned except Mary who was in dream land and her plump cheeks painted a pink colour.
Mary looked down and murmed something.
"I think that peter is really cute".
She put her hands up to her cheeks in embarrassment. I knocked her with my elbow and patted her head comfortingly.
'Aww cute, I could ask my brother if he could hook you up if you want Mary?'
Her eyes lit up and nodded vigorously. I laughed heartily and then sent her to change into her pyjamas. Sighing I picked myself up and went to go change.
Lily, Mary, Marlene, and I all stumbled out of the door laughing as we bumped into each other. We slid down the winding staircase only to be met with four boys all facing away from us. I recognised my brother's scruffy hair from the back along with peters dirty blonde; the other two were a mystery. One of them was even more messy than my brother's (I know, unbelievable) and was a light brown colour, the other had shoulder length hair which was tied up in a messy bun many small whisps landing neatly on his neck, its colour as jet black as the night – the fire lit up the back of his hair like the stars would.
I looked at the other girls only find them as clueless as me about the boys, clearing my throat I watched as all of them turned around their faces slightly red from facing the fire. The boy with unbelievably messy hair had a petite face and hazel eyes they had a soft look in them, and I knew I could trust him. My eyes wandered to the other boy only to meet the same grey mischievous eyes that I had seen on the train, I felt my heart flutter and my cheeks turn unnaturally red I ignored all of them. I just focused on my expressions being mirrored on his face. My friends and the other boys peered around to look at me and Sirius just staring at each other accusatively. I held up my finger at him and he did the same.
We said simultaneously.
