Chapter Ten~ Love

Start from the beginning

When the doctor said she showed enough recover Sophia’s parents decided that she might like going to public school more; noticing that she wasn’t making friends in privet.

After a summer of school she was now finished with her junior year, her class that she grew up with was already graduated for a year. I for almost two years, but I still helped her, putting off going to a college school another year. Attending online college classes in the evening and working a job at the mechanics in the morning and half of the afternoon.

Coming home one day of work his father was upset about something, during their dinner meal he finally spoke of his troubles.

“Son,” He started out, I look up to him, “I think you have spent to much time with the young girl.” Anger bubbled up inside, I pushed it down before specking.

“Sophia, is not a waist of time.” His mother looked down in discomfort, sensing the argument rising between them. “She is a friend to me.”

“She doesn’t even really know you, or why you care so much.”

When I am lost of words he begins again, “Why do you care so much? I think she doesn’t even know you were the one who ran into her.”

Guilt reopen old wounds, “You know why I care so much, because during the years I have grow closer to her, I got to know her for the human she really is.”

I didn’t noticed I was gripping the glass cup in my hands until Mother laid a slender hand on mine. A small understanding smile on her face, “Andrew,” Her soft voice calmed me, as it has often before when I was a child. “Do you love Sophia?”

Never was it voice to clearly, did I love her? If I did, in what way? Awareness dropped down on my father face like a blanket when I didn’t reply soon enough.

Compassion for her son, she asked him if she felt the same way.

“She doesn’t show emotion often, I-I don’t know...” His own feeling where scattered in his heart.

He had spent many days thinking over his mother question, couldn’t look at Sophia with out the voice of his mother questioning his feelings. Doing his college work in the evening he frequently caught himself thinking of Sophia and him togeather.

One day a knock came at the door, he was in the shower, washing away a days worth of working. Andrew heard his mother greet the visitor, he got out of the shower and dried off.

He was saving money to move out, Andrew’s parents did mind their only son living under their roof. It was just that he wanted a place to call his own.

When he was dress he exited the bathroom and started to the way to his bedroom.

“Andrew.” His mother called his name from the living room, “Come in here please.” He replied say he was going to drop his things into his room. When he entered the room his mother was in he froze when he saw the guest.
