By the end of season 7, Charlie gets arrested in front of Chelsea's house after crashing into a police car. Chelsea, flustered, decides to leave and comes to the decision that she and Charlie have no future together.
Jake has been cooking more this season and without knowing, has started to really consider cooking as a career.
In the final scene, after Jake drives Charlie to perform community service for his punishment, Alan hears the doorbell ring. He goes into the living room to open the door and in front of him, he sees Frankie, the single mother that Charlie and Alan encountered and helped in season 1.
