Chapter I: Signal Academy

A/N: Hello everyone and welcome to yet another book, but this time it's a milestone because this is 30th book I published! Anyways let's get to reading.

*3rd POV*

Vale - a city that one could say is the safest place on Remnant, surrounded by sea and a huntsman academy from all sides respectively, not to mention the city itself has schools training huntsmen.

One of such schools is attended by Y/N Rose, the oldest of the Rose - Xiao Long children.

He was a succesful student, some could say a prodigy, the teachers always asked him to give examples and students admired him even though he was just a second year.

*Y/N's POV*

I was sitting in the cafetetia - which was crowded by students - with my sister Yang. She was a first year and lunch was the time I was reviewing with her.

Yang: "Ugh I don't get why difference between grimm is so important! It's grimm why not just kill it!"

You: "Because these differences are what could save your life one day. For example if you were in a forest, Beowolf would find you and chase after you much easier than Nevermore, while in plains it's the oposite."

Yang: "That thing I get."

You: "And to look for their weaknesses. All grimms must be decapitated to die but the head is not always the weakest spot."

Yang: "But... without head-"

You: "They die... without wings they can't fly right? Without fins they can't swim... without arms or paws... they can't slash. Ursa... what can you tell me about them..."

Yang: "They're bears... and... uhh... they are grimm."

You: "Obviously... but slashing their heads off is kind of challenging... so where do you cut."

Yang: "I don't know... it's all the same!"

???: "Nope, you would want to cut its arms off... it is still challenging but you wouldn't need to generate as much energy.... also hello Yang and Y/N.... can I join you two?"

You: "Hoki's right's Yang.... its arms are the main focus... and of course you can Hoki."

Hoki sat next to me. She was in the same year like me, other students say about her she's a bit... crazy, I never noticed that on her.

Yang: "Oh hi Hoki."

Hoki: "... now then I hear you have troubles with grimm studies again..."

Yang: "Hey! I got a C this time!"

You: "C-... that's still not good. Yang you know killing grimm is what hunters do most of the time, without these basics you'll never get to Beacon."

Yang: "Right..."

Hoki: "That's right... you need to know how to hide... first off... no fear, that's what attracts them most but if it happens, you need to get away..."

You: "That's right, you need to learn when to decide to go for the kill... or when to withdraw from the fight."

Yang: "I get that but-"

Hoki: "You not always will be on your 100%..."

You: "Yup... listen Yang... the lunch break is about to end... how about we continue home, mom and your dad can help you out too, after all they graduated Beacon."

Yang: "I guess you're right."

Now after lunch Yang was going home already while I had one last class of today.
