What My Heart Desires (Varian x Reader oneshots)

Worried

It was a warm, dry summer's evening. The birds were settling down with their families and two 18 year old were half arguing.

"Varian your not going to stay up all night at the palace for work! Your only human! It's too much! You'll hurt yourself!"

"I have to finish this project for Rapunzel by next week!" 

"Exactly! Next week! Get a decent nights sleep, and be ready for tomorrow! It'll give you more energy! Along with actually eating food instead of just drinking hot chocolate!" argued the beautiful h/c haired woman, her eyes ablaze filled to the brim with passion and worry. 

"If I get it done tonight I can sleep tomorrow!" 

"I DON'T CARE IF YOU THINK THAT JUST GET SOME REST! I'M WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU!" you yelled, tears welling in your eyes. It was true, you were worried he wasn't eating or sleeping enough. He was working himself far to hard. Varian's face softened. He walked over and placed a hand on the side of your face, saying in an apologetic voice while wiping away some of your tears

"I'm sorry I made you upset, I was just so set on finishing my work as fast as possible" you looked into his, deep, sparkling, baby blue eyes.

"that isn't like you.... why would you want to get your work done quickly? Are you okay?" you searched his face trying to see if something was wrong, he just laughed and said, almost nervously,

"well... I wanted to get it done early so I could spend more time with you..." your eyes widened, saying

"m-me?" meakly Varian smiled kindly.

"you.."

"b-but w-why?" you managed to stutter out, Varian had been your best friend for years. Yes, you  did like him as more but why would he like you back? You were just some girl who happened to have been his neighbour since you were both 5 years old.

"well... y-you see..... er... I...... r-really like you..... correction: I love you I have ever since the science expo when we were 14, I was worried I'd ruin our friendship if I ever told you..... but... I really do love you. More than you could ever know..." you were in shock, your mouth was agape. You both stood there in silence for a second, then a look of worry came across Varian's freckled face

"o-of course it's okay if you don't feel the same, i-it's your decision..." you smiled at him, saying

"maybe this will be a sufficient answer..."      

"wha?-" Varian started but was cut of by you pressing your lips against his, eyes closed. It was a short sweet kiss, but it was brimming with love and passion. He tasted of red apples and cinnamon. When you both pulled away Varian started smiling like a complete idiot,

"wow..." he said, dreamily. You laughed at his exclamation, once again you tried to convince him

"now will you sleep?" 

"only if you come with me and have a sleepover" 

"sir Varian, it appears we have an accord" you said in a very over-the-top posh accent. you both burst out laughing
