Okay so this song is about looking for salvation from anyone and hoping if there is a god, he will give him salvation and hoping that God is forgiving. This song also is saying that Chris Cornell is wishing for his death and watching all of his friends die and just waiting until he does.

I changed the song meaning so that it would fit my story
I know Chris Cornell is never gonna see this but he is one of my musical heroes so he better not take offense that I'm changing this whole entire song to change it into a love story
