Stringed

A PAUSE IN TIME

||A pause in time||

Time stood still
The leaves still danced with wind
The flowers with colours so enchanting still winked
The windows still threw a tantrum
And the sun still brightened the day
But what did change
Was the homework that lay still undone
The date was marked to 2 months prior to today
The pages fluttered in the wind
But no soul dared to shut that notebook
The bed was still messy
Clothes still thrown all over the floor
What was missing was the boy who inhabited this room
What was missing was the completion of a routine.

Who can blame that boy for that homework undone?
Who can scold that boy for the mess made on the bed?
Who can frighten that boy who now lay on the pavement dead?
Blood seeped through his skull onto the concrete
An accident.

His dress still prepared for the next day of school
His books laid out as if to check if any is missing
Oh,what a tragedy!
No one will don this dress ever again
No one will ever again scribble on the old pages of these books
....
