TW: Death of a family member
I didn't understand why. I didn't know how. No one would explain to me how she passed away. I just saw her yesterday. She gave me a kiss goodbye and told me she loved me.

"y/n" someone called to my left. I looked up to see my grandmother with a worried look. "You've just been staring at her this whole time. Are you ok?" she asked with a concerned tone in her voice. I looked back down to my mother who was lying peacefully in the opened casket. It looked like she was just sleeping peacefully without a care in the world. I breathed a few shaky breathes, trying to hold back my tears and swallow the pain in my throat. I know I should cry but it just doesn't feel right.
Mom I thought you loved me
I rub and eyes and gave my grandmother a small smile to assure her that I was fine. I looked behind to see most of my family members here. Including my father, even though he and my mother have been split up for years I was glad he still cared for her. I'll have to be living with him from now on anyways. He noticed me and gave me a small smile, I could see the pain in his eyes.
Everyone eventually had given respects to my mother and gave a few small speeches about how my mother was a great person and an even better mom towards me. I appreciated the kind words towards my mother, everything they said about her was true. She really was a kind spirited women who loved her daughter dearly. Even when her and dad split up she didn't let that affect her and still treated me the same. That was the problem though...if she was such a caring person why was she dead? I still can't wrap my head around it. I still have so many questions.
Thankfully the funeral had ended soon. I'm guessing a few of my family members would stay for the burying but my father and I couldn't bare any longer. The car ride to his home was quiet. I didn't mind though. Somehow the pure silence between us was comforting in a way.
Once we got home I immediately went to the guest room, which was practically my room now since I would always stay here on the weekends whenever I would visit him. I pulled out my phone to see that I had 3 missed calls and 27 new messages from my good friend Yashiro Nene. I loved her dearly and we've been friends for a while now. I met her back in middle school and we just clicked. I scrolled through the messages which really was just her asking me if I was ok and if I was mad at her. I took a deep breath and decided to call her back.
"y/n! Are you ok? Are you mad at me? You weren't messaging me back or answering any of my calls, did I do something wrong?" I could hear the panic in her voice and smiled softly. I'm really glad to have a friend like her. "Nene I'm really sorry I didn't message or call you back. I wish I could have told you sooner what had happened but I was still trying to process it myself" I began to tear up as my voice cracked. "y/n what happened?" she seemed genuinely concerned at this point. I cleared my throat and tried to speak without my voice breaking
"My mom is dead"
A/N: Hello everyone this is my first fanfic and I'm really excited to write this! I love tbhk and so I decided to write a fanfic about it. This fanfic will cover topics of death a lot so if you don't feel comfortable with that then you might not want to read this. I'm not sure about my schedule either so don't expect super fast updates all the time. Anyways I hoped you enjoyed the prologue and have a wonder day/night !! I know its weird to have a funeral the same day y/n's mom died but let's just roll with it 🤠
