Alesa Smith:
I miss Louis.
Thats all I could think of on my long walk home. I had just past the street I had originally met him on stopping for a minute to stare at the tall building that blended in with the other typical skyscrapers built around it.
Louis was a French friend I met during college. I had gone out one day and I ran into him at a high end restaurant we both apologized and talked for a few minutes before we parted ways. I didn't think I would see him again until I went out to an office building to file some paperwork a week later.
He saw me again and weirdly enough we ended sitting next to each other in the lobby. From there we just kept running into each other. Sometimes it was on the street other times it was at clubs. Eventually we just decided to exchange numbers and meet up whenever he was in town.
He was pale skinned with these short dark brown curls in his hair. He had these emerald green eyes and a smaller nose. He stood at about 6'2 which meant he did tower over my 5'7 frame and to be fair he could be quite intimidating at first. I had even been scared the first time we met, and the second, and maybe a little on the third, but by the fourth I had gotten used to it.
He mainly lived in France, he had a few houses there but his main ones were in Paris and Lyon. Despite that he came here for business probably every other month for about three days or so. He owned a bunch of businesses all around the world but that didn't make him any less fun. He was that friend though that you hung out with individually. Avery didn't even know about him and I doubted his friends knew about me. It was kinda like we were each others secrets. We would always go out late at night just the two of us and just talk about everything that was on our minds.
He would talk about his growing business, his non existent moral compass, no really he didn't have one he was quite honest about that, and the pressure he was under at work. I would talk about boys, he was gay and he always knew what to say if i ever needed advice he was the first person I texted, school and everything else going on in my life at that point. He was only a couple years older than me so our friendship, that was going on four years, just worked.
It has been about a month and a half since i've seen him so hopefully he is coming back to town soon. I had made it about half way home before I decided to stop and text him.
A - Hey how's France? Also when are you coming back I miss you.
L - God I miss you AJ.
He started calling me AJ after he learnt what my middle name was. I didn't mind I actually really liked it, it was his thing, kind of like how Esa was Matteo's thing.
L - France is fine boring without you though. Are you sure you don't want to move here I told you I would make sure you would be covered. I will buy you whatever you want, a house i've got you, an office building for a new firm consider it done. I'd even get you front row tickets to fashion week for the rest of your life if you would just come here.
A - Louis I have told you before as long I have a choice, New York will always be my home.
L - Yeah , yeah. If you ever move though it better be to France or I will go get you and drag you here. On another note though I should be there tomorrow actually. Spend the night together like normal? I'll book the suite.
Like I said we always met up away from everyone late at night. If I had just met the man I would honestly think he was trying to kidnap or kill me. We also kind of turned off our phones during this time so that really didn't help his "I promise i'm not really a serial killer" case.
We always stayed at The Plaza a really nice hotel downtown and he would always book one of the suites, which had at least two bedrooms, (perks of being friends with a very private billionaire). We would just spend the night together hanging out before splitting up and saying bye in the early morning.
