The others

There are eighteen of us who live here. It would probably be hard to imagine that. Well, you could think of it as having eighteen siblings. We fight a lot, but what else could you expect?

Elektra runs into my room and I jump and drop my book in shock.

"Come on bookworm. Diana wants us to help the twins cook dinner tonight."

Diana is really nice. She runs Mighty Oaks alongside David, and they sure know how to deal with us kids. To be honest, we aren't easy on them, but they have a lot of patience. Most of the time.

"You could've walked in like a normal person. I've lost the page." I flip through the book, shove my marker in and throw it onto my desk. "Race ya!"

We run down the stairs, nearly tripping over each other, and into the kitchen. Madison and Morgan (the twins) have already started cooking. The twins are really sweet. They are identical- both of them are seven years old and have wavy, chocolate brown hair and pale green eyes.

"Hey guys!" Madison is the louder out of the two; Morgan is more observant. "Let's start cooking!"

Together we make a big dish of lasagna- big enough to feed twenty people. Elektra and I set the table, while Madison and Morgan run to call the others.

Soon enough, we are all sitting at the table, joking with each other while eating as if we are a family. Well, that's how we see each other. We might not be related but we are bonded so closely. And that's what I like- that we see each other as family.
