As LYANN EVANS was still inside her mother's belly, her father, Tamlin Evans, made a deal with a HYDRA and used his unborn child as subject. His daughter's gene was different, unique, and Tamlin wanted to make the best out of it. Expirements started and Leelie Archeron, the mother that carried the gifted child, knew there was no going back, and while Lyann kept growing inside of her, Leelie felt her own body growing weak. In the end, the labor took too much of her strength and as she looked into her daughter's eyes for the first and last time, Leelie died.

But Lyann's first cry was the answer HYDRA had been waiting.

An agonizing cry. A cry that made ears bleed.

A death cry.

Thanks to this reaction, Lyann never had a normal life. Her father, a man of science and money, dragged his baby to HYDRA's claws to transform her into something so much more. And as the years went by, Lyann became a lethal weapon. Death, some would call her. She was death inside a child's body.

Then HYDRA fell, along with SHIELD that day. And so many lives were lost.

Including Lyann's father.

She wasn't there, for she had been in a mission elsewhere, but when that was completed and no one responded when she reported her status, Lyann realized something was off. Then, watching the latest news of what had happened in Washington D.C. Lyann acknowledged HYDRA's failure.

She did not panic, nor felt a thing. HYDRA had taken the ability to, anyway. But Lyann had no idea of where to go or what to do next, for all her contacts had either wind up dead, disappeared or fell just like other HYDRA members.

That's when he found her.

It's not every day that Lyann found herself caught off guard, but as she realized she was being surrounded by Captain America's team, led by Captain America himself, Lyann allowed herself the sense of surprise before using her powers against the nearest opponent she had. Falcon. And then Scarlet Witch's power stroke her, and for some fraction of time, Lyann's own surrendered under hers. Until her cry vibrated within, feed her heart and filled her lungs, and then a battle raged between the Banshee and the Scarlet Witch.

The next thing Lyann knew was that someone had injected something in her neck. A cedant. Lyann dreamt and dreamt of a darkness that whispered and talked and sang to her until her heart grew tired of it, but when her eyes shut open and she acknowledged Captain America's presence, whose eyes looked old and wise, Lyann still saw a pleading stare as he said:

"Where is he?"

Lyann said nothing, froze still in the bed she was chained to.

"Where is the Winter Soldier?"

And with that single question, Lyann's whole world changed.

And with that single question, Lyann's whole world changed
