He glared at me and removed the ice bag.

My breath hitched. Uh-oh.

His bangs were swept on one side revealing a big lump and few scratches with dried blood in them.

"You call this 'kinda'?" he bellowed which shocked me. I didn't expect that he would be this angry.

I cringed. "Sorry, I..."

"Is that all you've got to say? Could that 'sorry' even make up for this?" he angrily pointed at his forehead and I swear, it seemed like it was getting more and more noticeable as time passed.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't-"

"Just drop it. I don't want to hear anything from you," he dismissed, irritation laced on his voice.

"Hey, guys!" Ryusaki blurted out when he sensed the growing tension between me and Hideaki. "We could, you know, try to relax for a little bit. It-"

"Then what do you want me to do? Grab a lampshade and hit myself?" I snapped as I felt the rising irritation inside me. I could tolerate almost anything but not when someone was shouting at me while I was trying my best to calmly speak. I saw the shock registered in Ryusaki's face, obviously not prepared at my outburst. "And it's just a lump, what are you getting so hyped up for?"

This apparently made Hideaki lose his senses because he threw the icebag roughly on the floor and glared at me. "Then put yourself in my shoes. Let's see if you could still say that."

"It's not my fault! I'm just being careful. How would I know you're not a burglar? And who's in their right mind that will look for food with no lights on? Don't even make me laugh."

"What did you-!" He suddenly stood up making me step back involuntarily.

Dear Lord, he was tall as well.

"Yoshikawa-chan! I suppose you should go to your room right now," Ryusaki said but it was too fast for my ear to catch up. He was panicking now, I know. He took a step and stood in front of Hideaki, blocking the latter from my view. "Get some rest. It's already late. I know you have classes tomorrow."

"What now, Toshiro?" Hideaki said, annoyed, and pushed Ryusaki aside.

Ryusaki just put his arms around Hideaki's shoulders without breaking his stare at me. "Just forget what happened. This idiot is in a really bad mood since yesterday. We're both tired and haven't taken any proper sleep yet so please try to understand. I'm sorry for everything."

Hideaki removed Ryusaki's arm from him but the latter didn't pay attention to it. "Take your rest now, Yoshikawa-chan. Oyasumi!"

I looked at him for awhile and I could see the pleading in his eyes. It seemed like he was implying that this would turn into blood bath if I didn't stop arguing with Hideaki.

I just let out a sigh to calm my nerves. Maybe he had a point. I was not the only one who was worn-out and shocked from what happened.

I smiled at him after a moment. "Thank you, Ryusaki-kun. Oyasumi," I said loudly for Hideaki to hear and headed to my room without glancing at his way.

Before I closed the door of my room, Ryusaki's voice, filled with annoyance, reached my ears. "Seriously, dude. What the hell was that?"

What a coincidence. It was just the exact question in my head.

What the hell was that?

A delicious smell infiltrated my nostrils as I stepped out of my room one Monday morning. I heard my stomach growled as I inhaled it and immediately searched for its source.
