When Derek got home it was very uncomfortable at his house even though his grandparents acted as if nothing happened. Derek went up to his room wich still had boxes that he refused to unpack. He tried to go to bed but couldn't. Instead he just stared at the wall thinking about the past.
In the morning he got ready for school without even confronting his grandparents because he was scared what they would say. He then left to walk to school again but something felt dufferent today. He kept walking and got to where he could see the school but there was a group of kids in the middle of the sidewalk blocking the way.
Derek walked up to them and said excuse me but they stayed there and then looked at him. The tallest and strongest person in the group, who was obviously the leader of the group, came up to Derek and asked, "Aren't you the one who passed out yesterday", he said this in a very aggressive tone then laughed just like the rest of the people. Derek then replied, "Yeah, why does it matter". Derek tried to sound confident but was his voice was shaking and the person confronting him noticed it too.
The bully then said, "Did you just talk back to me.", while he said that he pushed him in the chest wich almost made him fall down. Derek kept his head down and didnt reply. The bully then said, "I asked you a question, so answer me". Derek still kept his head down. The bully shoved Derek harder this time wich made him fall and again all of the bully's friends started laughing.
Derek got up immediately, suprisingly fast, and stepped back from the bully but he kept getting closer and closer until he was about an inch away. The bully was so much taller than Derek that Derek's face was eye level the bully's chest.
Out of nowhere a teacher came and said
"Tyler, in my office now." The teacher turned out to be the principal. Right after Tyler left Michael showed up from around the building and walked over to Derek and said, "I saw Tyler shove you and I went to get Mr. Smith the principal.". Derek replied just by saying thanks and asking if Michael could walk him to his classes.
