I sat on the grass and felt the warm wind blow in my face. The sun was setting.

I really wanted the sun to stay there. I wanted time to stop. I didn't want to see what came next.

I heard footsteps on the grass.

Simon sat down next to me.

"I had a feeling you'd be here."

He stared at the horizon.

I remained silent.

"I really am sorry for all that's happened to you."

"You don't need to feel sorry. I'm completely fine."

"You don't have to lie to me Sophie..... but you know..... you have to let this go and move on. It'll be good for you."

How could I? How was I supposed to let it all go like nothing ever happened? It would be like I missed a whole chapter of my life. Not that it would make my life any better. I just couldn't see myself ever accepting this.

I couldn't see myself living like this.
