Jakkapad

Chapter 14

Peemphat came to see the venue in the morning to check everything is complete again. Today's event is an engagement ceremony in the morning and evening. It is considered to have a lot of flower care. He wanted people to take care of every flower as best as possible. “Do not forget to carry a sprayer on your person to use in the care of flowers, they have to stay in peak condition until late in the evening.

“In 10 minutes, the main guest will start to arrive. Uncle, let people in to bring flowers to change over there.” The boss commanded in a stressful voice. Hands are busy, pulling flowers from the front arch.  “And don't forget to get the people who haven’t arrived yet to bring the bouquet we've arranged for changing out during the evening event.”

“Yes, Khun Peem.”

When the foreman walked away and he followed instructions, Peemphat turned his attention to the bouquet. He put it in place, sprayed water and deliver the flowers that needed to be changed to the person sitting on the wheelchair.

"Does the evening have to be changed again?" said Jakkapad. He never thought that flower arrangements would be so difficult.

“Just some changes that the customer wants, since this is a big event. He asked me to change some flowers after the morning job was done. It's more likely he wanted to add more detail because the engagement in the morning was only for the parents and older family relatives of the bride and groom's family. It is different from the evening which is busier. I have to add a few more photo spots and aisles in the corridor.”

“Do you have to take care of the work all the time?”

“No just before the event starts. As for the evening event, I have been invited as a guest, instead of my father.”

“And Phi …”

“Phi Jak has to be with his wife all the time,” the young man said promptly. However, he did not think of leaving Phi Jak alone. “Don’t worry, this work doesn't require a suit and tie. Peemphat prepared the clothes that we bought together at that time.”

“Get ready.”

"Of course, someone will find an excuse not to go to a friend’s party.”

Jakkapad raised his hands, stroking the other boys head with a sense of joy when the body leaned in closer. Actually, even if he hadn't prepared his outfit, he didn't plan to let his little boy go alone. After what happened yesterday, when Mintra’s people came close without knowing it, he was even more unable to let his important person disappear from his sight.

“In a moment, the guests will start to arrive. Let us go together,” Peemphat told the person beside him as he walked to the station to push the chair. He didn't forget to turn to beckon the workers to hurry and fill the flower gap where flowers had been pulled out earlier. When finished, he turned around to take Jakkapad away from the area.

"Like this, you have to wait to change flowers in the afternoon again, right?"

“I don’t have to. Because we must prepare for the event in the afternoon as well, people just have to put up more of the kiosks that have already been set up,” Peemphat explained to his curious boyfriend. His main purpose for coming here was to attend to his father’s work. But when he saw that the magnate Phitaks had been hired to arrange flowers in the event as well, his father took the opportunity for him to come and see the order in person. They will continue to manage the work at the resort.

“Hmm… so what will you do while you wait for the time?”

“Go back to my room.”

“Huh…” Jakkapad looked up at the person speaking in surprise. He thinks that the other party will have more trouble to travel in between.

“Peem knows that P'Jak rarely sleeps last night. Let's go back to sleep in the room."

Because he knew that Phi Jak was thinking so much about his mother and could not sleep, he secretly stared at that serious face all night. If it were normal situation, he would have been aware of it and been chased to go to sleep in the first place, but this time he didn’t even know if Peem was looking. Peemphat remembers himself falling asleep while he was in the middle of staring, so he didn’t know when the person next to him was able to sleep, but if he could guess, maybe Phi didn’t sleep at all.

“I am well aware of that,” the person listening said in a humorous tone without denying the good intention of the person speaking. Because in any case, he was very tired after laying awake thinking all night before getting to rest his eyes in the morning.

The two men returned to their accommodation at 9:00 o'clock. If it was in the past when Phi was still working in France, even if he had lack of sleep for two or three days it was not a problem for him. Jakkapad almost never showed any signs of fatigue. but when he returned here and lived with Peemphat, their life schedule is constantly being changed without any advance notice, so it eventually became their habit to go to bed or eat on time with one another.
“Do I have to convince you to sleep?” The young man laughs when he hears a stiff voice from the man with his arms crossed by the bed. I would like to ask who would fall asleep if they were stared at with sharp eyes like that.

"No need to convince," he replied, "just stay here."

Peemphat looked puzzled so the person talking used that moment to lift the upper body up, clench the arms that crossed the chest until the thin figure fell with the force used as Jakkapad could not his legs so he used his arms to tightly hug the thin waist. Fortunately, the hugged person does not resist as he was afraid he would be hurt. So, the two bodies hugged each other like that. Even if one of them is completely silent because the heart is beating so hard that it almost explodes.

“Wait for me to fall asleep.” The deep voice whispers just beside Peemphat’s crimson ear, then disappeared.
Not long after, the person who had nearly exploded, died again and again when he sensed the constant breath of the person beside him. The arms that embraced him, loosen sightly, allowing him to go out.  Peemphat seized the opportunity by moving backwards and eventually slipped out of his strong arm.

Not wanting to leave the hug ... but my heart is working so hard that I am afraid to accept it.

He sat up on the bed, turned to make the sleeping position of Phi more comfortable and finish with a blanket. He finally had a chance to breathe in and out quickly to stay consciousness.

“I almost died…”

“We grab each other and hug, but cant let it continue in that position.”

I can’t accept it, I really can’t accept it. I am going to have to say something, If he had anything to say in reply, he would definitely blow himself up.
*(He feels like he going explode)

Peemphat rushed out of the bedroom to calm down. The heart that never controls itself continues to beat as if trying to break out. Even his face is hot. You don’t have to look in the mirror to see how red it is. He walked in to the living room for no reason, hoping that all the symptoms had disappeared and that he was going to sit down.
Tap, Tap…

The knock on the door of the room of the person who was still not in control of himself was not so good. The heart that had just calmed down fluttered in shock. Peemphat just now knew how frightened he is.

“Peem…”

“Yes,” the young man hurriedly walked to open the door when he heard a familiar call from the front of the room. The image in front of the room is  a head in strange clothes, which caused him to raise his eyebrows in surprise. The other party seems aware of a dry laugh coming out before he could explain.

“They are Grey’s clothes.”

"It's like this," Peemphat smiled as he saw the person's cheek turning pink. At first, he wanted to tease it as well. But when he tries to tease, he would definitely get hit by two big, brutal people standing behind the head of the first person. "Come in first."

“"Phi, wait here." Upon hearing the second boss order, the two brutal young men nodded firmly as they turned around to guard the door in a formidable manner. Peemphat does not know whether to laugh or cry. He quickly pulled the masters arm to follow him into the room and quickly closed the door.

“How come, just coming down one floor, someone must follow along?”

“It’s Grey’s command. Now, I sneaked away while he was taking a shower. I'll be met again.” Pramuk laughed as though it was fun sitting on the sofa at the invitation of a friend.

"So why did you come with Gray? I remember that day with the everyone else, didn’t I? "

“Gray met me at the airport, so he pulled them together and the clothes were deposited,’ he said with a smile on his face. “Stop talking about me first. You had better ask questions from the beginning.

To know more….

“I am coming because there is something to warned about.” Pramuk began to change his face to look more serious, "I may not be as smart as Tae, as good as Phi Peem, but I am not stupid enough to believe the words of the woman who is hurting my brother.”

“Wait a minute, Muk… what do you mean by that?” Peemphat had a serious look on his face. Even though he still doesn’t understand the story, he had a strange sense of bad intuition.

“This morning, I went out to a coffee shop with two bodyguards while Grey slept. Phi asked them to wait in front of the store. I personally went in alone ... and I met a woman over there."

“…” The listener breathed all the way through, when he starts to guess something.

"The woman whispered to me, if Phi Jak can make Gray stop bothering her, she will return the position to him."

“That woman…”

“Yes, Peem,” Pramuk nodded, “My mother and Phi Jak…. She has come here.”

Peemphat was not worried about whether Phi Jak would return to that woman or weither he would accept the offer. But what he worries about is the physical and mental safety of the other party.

Just when talking about Phi Jak, I still have that kind of worry ... and if I have to face up to that worry… He didn't want to think about it at all.

“The mother of Jak knows about Pramuk and…”

Without waiting for him to finish speaking, Pramuk shook his head. He raised a little smile. When he saw the caring attitude of his older friend he can't help thinking that this person is really a really suitable person for Phi Jak.

“I don't know … Gray is not a normal person. For someone to meet him directly it is very difficult. Especially for enemies that he is thinking of getting rid of.”

“He’s the enemy of muk’s mother?

“Mom is not his opponent. When there is no Phi Jak or his stepfather to take care of the company, it began to decline steadily. Gray relied on the gap from his mother’s weakness, breaking that company down little by little, until there was almost nothing left,” said the young man with a calm face. He had no compassion for his own mother. “Phi Jak didn’t ask Gray to do this. Phi just asked Gray to gather information for you. Even so, you can’t stop me from knowing what Gray is doing. So I’m not sure if you forbid Gray, will he stop?”

"But if Pramuk forbids it is another matter, right?" Peemphat chuckled when he saw the helpless attitude of his friend.

"Well ... I don't know because I have never thought about this anyway."

I'm not bound, I don't want to help. If he hadn't met today, he would have forgotten what his real mother looked like, but it was strange too… because as soon as he made eye contact, he immediately realized the other person’s identity.

The bond between mother and son? … something like that does not help at all.

To see the second brother being hurt to help him and seeing the older brother being dragged over for him ... The wounds caused by those incidents cannot be erased with the words between mother and son.

“So why did Gray do that?”

“It’s fun,” Pramuk smiled faintly.  “He does it because it is fun.”

Gray is a scary man who can do anything if he wants to do it. The other is that he just wants to play by chasing the little insect like ants into a corner and then crushing them all at once.

One of the reasons … maybe because he had a nightmare when he sleeps, and he accidentally tells his childhood story.  Those fierce, mighty eyes shine on along with the other party promising to repay all the bad things. It is a strong indication that all that Gray does, in addition to helping Phi Jak and doing it for fun, there's another reason ... who is it for?

"It's scary," Peemphat muttered softly.

“Scary, but he is one of us , so it is fine.”

“Mmm.” The listeners expression improved

“What I came to tell you was because I wanted to remind him that mother had arrived here. I might not be able to help much. But if he needs any help, you can always tell me."

“Thank you, Muk.”

Even though Pramuk has been back for a long time, the transparent figure of a very thoughtful person still sits still in the same place, not moving at all. The man who had been hiding at the edge of the door for a long time decided to expose himself by pushing his chair out.

Jakkapad reached out and held his slender hand while using the other hand to lift the rounded chin up to look up at him.

“Phi Jak heard it, didn’t you?”

“Well,” he said.
“Thinking too much?”
“I’m not”

The opaque eyes of the asked man began to shine a little.

“Peem is afraid that you will become so angry that you cannot control yourself again.”

"If there was no Peem, it might be right," Jakkapad replied with a smooth voice. He let Peemphat look at his head until the other party took his eyes off by himself and continued. “Maybe Mintra’s coming here would be a good thing.”

It’s all going to end…

“If P’Jak does not want to see her… at the end of the ceremony, shall we go back together? Peem believes that father will understand,” The person talking held the big hand tightly. Both his face and his voice clearly indicate how worried he is. But Jakkapad shook his head and gave a gentle look at the smaller person who was stunned.

“I'm ready to face that woman. And then one more thing ... "

“…”

"If it's after the job ends ... I won't be able to make it happen."

Peemphat still could not understand what Jakkapad’s last sentence meant. Until he came to the wedding and saw the names of the people who signed the two previous greeting spaces before him.
Mintra…

Maybe it’s a different person.

“It really is Mintra’s signature,” he said.

When he hears someone in a wheelchair say that, Peemphat doesn’t know how to deceive himself any longer. The young man took a deep breath to keep his mind calm and tells himself in his heart that no matter what, he will be by Phi Jak’s side and that he would definitely not disappear.

"How did P'Jak know that she will come?"

He tried asking questions while pushing the chair through the inside.

“Gray sent me a message last night. Muk may not have been known that’s why he didn’t tell you. "

That is how…

Peemphat took Jakkapad to greet the magnate Phithak for a moment to introduce that they were representatives of Viboon. After being released, the two walked to the beach to a point that not very crowded. Luckily, in addition to attending the event and being watched because of their good looks, all the parties dispersed and no one else paid attention to them.

“What are you worried about?” Jakkapad started the conversation first while still facing the sea. Without looking back, he knew that Peemphat was still looking around worriedly as he has been doing since entering the event.

“I’m not.”

“Don’t lie to me.”

The listener’s face crumpled, seemingly unable to speak for a moment, when they became aware of it. Even without turning around, he was still caught. What else can be denied except to be honest.

“Phi’s mom’s here…”

"Peem doesn't have to look," he said, hearing the footsteps of someone coming closer and closer. “She’ll come to Phi in a moment.”

The footsteps stopped when someone walked over to the side. Four to five steps away from his wheelchair. The woman turned to look at the sea. The fragile figure left a decent distance from the four bodyguards behind her, as if she needed some personal time. No need to ask, Peemphat knows who that middle-aged woman is. Surprisingly, he was not excited or shocked that he was caught off guard. On the other hand, … when he saw how calm Jakkapad was, his heart was also calm.
*translator note…. Holy…. Oh my…. Its about to go down!

A more stressful atmosphere can make it difficult for people who are in a mood to lose patience. But that wasn't the case with Jakkapad...

“You really didn’t to greet your mother?”
*translator note: you lucky his man is not yelling at you, you horrid excuse for a mother!

“…”

Silence was the only answer to the question from the mouth of a woman who bowed her head. And in the end, she could not bear to stare at the image in front of her any longer.

“King!”

“I don’t see who I am meant to be talking to.”

Or if simply speaking, the word ‘real mother’… he does not accept that.

Even disgusted by the name King that she had given him when he arrived in France for the first time, it was unfortunate that almost everyone, even Gray, knew him by that name. Otherwise, Jakkapad what have abandoned even the nickname from the one he hated.

"Do you think that you will be able to break free and be strong or not?" said the beautiful woman, as she turned her head and walked over.  A frightening distorted smile appeared as her eyes glanced at the person standing behind her real son. "Or is it because you thought that someone was with you, so you dared to speak like that to your mother? Don't you remember what you have been through?”

The people listening did not even glance at her. Sharp eyes were fixed on the dark sea. Even when he spoke the next sentence, he still did not change his face.
“Have I got something wrong? ... Don't talk like I am afraid of you. You, too, should know the very reason that I came off the throne and agree to come back here or even let you own everything stepfather. It was not because I was afraid or wanted to follow the instructions. But because I couldn't accept myself."

He paved all the way for himself and acts as if listening to Mintra's nonsense, even though he did not care because he did not think that this woman was dangerous. That she is still allowed to shout and speak, even though Phi can kick her out at any time. All because he saw that his stepfather still needed her. But when he lost both legs, he was unable to go back and walk despite trying his physical therapy, and when that happened it made him go crazy. When coupled with the woman who had previously pulled him into being a puppet, said to his face that it was no use, he was even more unable to control himself. In the end, he gave up everything because he was ashamed and disgraced. He had hated the disgusting state he was in, unable to help themselves and despised and branded himself as useless.
*translator note: I feel so bad for Jakkapad, reading how he thought of himself ...

"Let us stop talking about the old things. Isn’t that better King?" The listeners gritted their teeth as they perceived the insulting tone that was embedded in that sentence.

"Yes… that too." Jakkapad turned his head to look at the people behind slightly as a warning. With just that, Peemphat turned his wheelchair to face the woman immediately. "I am also tired of that mask."

"Huh." She smiled as if she did not hear what Jakkapad said. Instead, she looked at the tall figure behind him, who had always stood silent.

"Won't you introduce the person in the back to Mom?"

"Not necessary," Jakkapad replied in a short voice.

"I never thought that you would whip ..."

"Shut up." A strong expression with a sharp eye to kill people appeared on their face.

Even Mintra was a little startled as it met those eyes. “Say your business.”

The owner of a thin hand held his hand tightly as he raised his head slightly to restore morale. She hates that this son had copied almost all of the traits from her new husband, hates the power of both men can still use to persecute her. Even at this point when one is dead, the other is just a handicapped person.

“Tell Gray… the friend you have been secretly planning with, to let go of your mother's company. And the evidence that he sent to threaten your mother, tell him to delete it and mother will allow the lawyer to empower you as before."

“Hmm…” As soon as the sound was over, the sound of laughter grew louder and louder. Until it finally turned into a frightening laughter "In fact, you came to talk about this."

"What are you laughing at?" Mintra gritted her teeth. She had already thought it over; a lover of power like a Jakkapad would definitely accept the offer.  Why are you looking like that?

"Keep that bad offer of yours and listen to what I have to say.”

“…”

“Get your people out of here. Leave me alone and I will stop destroying you. At least it will not expose your illegal dealings to your friends. As for the company that Gray is working on, if he is bored ... it will stop by itself. "

The name she heard made her thin body tremble. She knew from the beginning that the boy would bring trouble. She even ordered her other son not to get involved. I never thought that in the end he would still be secretly friends without her knowing. They have been co-operating for ten years!
She knew the ambassador's child had to be involved in trying to destroy her company. but she never knew that the illegal things that she had done with her friends was also known. Just the evidence sent by the ambassador's child was enough to put her in prison for the rest of her life. In fact if there are still more cases she didn't want to think what the outcome would be.

No  …

Absolutely not ….

“You will regret this.”

Leaving after those few words, her thin figure walked away with the four body guards. Two people were left behind alone

“Phi Jak…”

Peemphat might have thought that P'Jak was not affected, if he hadn’t glanced to see the big hand that had gripped the arm rest of the wheelchair. The young man did not know what to do when it was not something he had dealt with before. Thinking quickly, he lightly placed his hand on his shoulder. To let Phi know that there is still one person standing here And like that feeling will eventually pass. When his tough palm was raised, he placed it over his hand and held it tightly.
*translator: I can just imagine their 2 silhouettes against the sea.
"You're thinking right," said Jakkapad, without waiting for the person in the back to finish his sentence.

He spent the night reviewing his feelings and answering his puzzling questions. Recalling the day Mintra said he was useless, go back to the days when he was planning to control everything in his hand. He finally understood what he was doing. Why he does not want to get rid of the Mintra?

"In addition to the time when I was hurt as a child and thought of hating my mother; when I grew up, I never saw that woman as my enemy again. I looked at her as a woman who lived day by day. There is no harm, but when there was an accident and was stressed that I was a useless puppet, the hatred rushed back into my mind again. It keeps telling me over and over. How much I suffered from childhood."

To learn everything and to be the first in order to receive love from my stepfather; the woman taught, abused, educated, strengthened, slapped and beat him. He has been hurt numerous times, causing him to suffer endlessly.

*I’m struggling to see my screen due to the rage I feel toward that woman!!!

"I used to be a lover of power, trying to control everything in two hands. Whoever is like that will be like what does it matter and will not care as long as you are at the top.” The young man smiled at the thought of those times of power. "But after thinking about it perhaps it is a good thing that I had an accident that I cannot walk. Because it makes Phi unable to accept myself, makes phi give up my power and made Phi meet his wife ... "
“Phi Jak…” The beautiful eyes tremble when he see how stable the eyes are of the man facing him.

“The reason you’re so hesitant about Mintra is because in your heart you know that the woman was the one who caused you to be born, and maybe if it hadn’t happened, you might be still lost in the cycle of power and money that the woman took you to climb up.”

If so, he may have allowed her to sit in the position of the person helping him. The person who made him strong enough to stand on that spot. And may completely forget all the bad things in his childhood. Thinking about it, it might be possible to admit that the illegal business she secretly actioned behind his stepfather back; because of the money and power, perhaps she had thought it was good, completely over shadowing her conscience.

But now it’d different…

He did not care about those things he had once possessed.

It is true that he gives him the opportunity to think. I think that it is a substitute for the merit that has caused it. In lieu of merit that almost made him a bad guy with money and power. Including compensation for merit… that makes him come back to meet so see his ‘heart’ again, but…

"But if you don't listen, don’t do it... "

“…”
"If you touch even the slightest bit.”

"By that time, Phi will push her off a cliff by your own hand. And even if she is my mother …. she will never have a chance to climb out.
