i started writing this fanfiction in 2018 as a form of creative exercise and to ensure that i kept writing outside of class. after my subsequent two-year mid-book hiatus (which began when i graduated from college and started experiencing a lot of change), in late 2020 i logged back in and read through hundreds (!!) of comments from readers who found and read the book during those two years and then during quarantine, and i figured i was well overdue to finish what I started.
