The rising sun streamed through the sky as the Hidden Capitol of the Republic of Acorns awoke to another day of protecting the city and the people. Everyone was starting to come out of their homes and begun their daily work, which would be shopping for business that are starting to open or hanging out with their own friends.

The center of the capitol stood a castle that would stick out from the forest, but with the energy flowing through the universe, it's impressive how the Republic could conceal such a castle.

Once inside the castle, a Blue Wisp floated around one sleeping Mobian chipmunk once it got inside her room through the half closed window. Her red hair was ruffled due to some tossing and turning in her deep sleep. The Blue Wisp playfully bounced on her head, as if acting like a bouncy house. This did irritated much of the sleeping Sally Acorn.

Sally tried tossing to the other side, but her eyes were blinking open and closing no matter how hard she tried. However, the more she did tossed and turned, this got her closer to the edge of her own bed leading her to fall. This got her even more awake than before which even excited the Blue Wisp more. Sally couldn't make a straight and serious face to one of the cutest critters on Mobius, but she still needs to change her clothes.

Out of the pajamas from that night and into her custom made outfit. The vest, the boots, even her set of weapons of ring blades already dormant since the blades would burn and hurt somebody if they were active all the time.

Once she was able to get herself dressed and ready for another day as a tomboy Princess, Sally stepped outside of her room. Her first idea was to walk to where she knew the other people she considered close to would be at. She was right about that, as in the Great Hall of the castle was the current king of the republic and her older brother Elias. He was not alone as well.

Nicole, the Royal Advisor was reviewing something with the Geoffrey St. John; the General of the entire Acorn military. Meg, her pregnant sister-in-law was enjoying herself with some steaming tea in her hands. Elias was the first to notice Sally coming in and simply waved hello and a "Good Morning Sally". She returned the greeting with a yawn "Anything new?"

"Well if you plan to go close to the borders of the city, I suggest being careful. Recent patrols have confirmed one of the Deadly Six nearby and we're planning to have the First Squadron  drive him away before he reaches a certain radius of the city" Nicole replied.

Instead of showing fear, Sally's eyes widened at the news as if trying to contain her glee. While she did not make any talk, she did walk away from the others in a big hurry. Nicole only rolled her eyes, knowing the princess full well.

Just as the others knew she was gone, Sally reached the outside. It was common ground for the Acorn family to be social with their subjects, so it's practically normal for Sally to be out where everyone is and interact with them. Sally reached to the east side of the wall where she knows well that the Acorn military are preparing and training.

The First Squadron was a very active group as they were one of the few military teams that carried authorized Wispons. And for historians making records for the future generation all know of the D'Coolette family leading such Squadron for a whole decade. Sally has made acquaintance with the members, but there was one person she was more close to that involved the First Squadron.

Bunnie D'Coolette, the cyborg rabbit friend to Sally and Wife to the Commander ranked leader of the First Squadron was with the group just as Sally noticed all of them. Bunnie also noticed Sally right away "Eh Sally Sugah, How's yah morning?" "Basically getting better, when I come with the Antoine and the group."

Bunnie chuckled a bit like Sally's request was part of a comedian act "Ar' you tryin' to pull of mah only flesh limb here?" "There's nothing much to do around this town, except protecting it from the Egg Army or any other bad guys," Sally objected "And it has been mostly the military and Geoffrey doing the work around here. And ever since the War, this just has been more normal than the days before Eggman was even around."

"Sally, is this 'cause yah missing Sonic?" Bunnie asked. Sally only made one twitch of her right eye, but her gasp was much more noticeable.

"INCOMING!" was just one shout from a lieutenant near a wooden catapult having a direct misfire, with the iron ball flung towards Bunnie, who dodged just in time unfortunately letting it hit a raspberry Lemming in the head, making him fall to the ground. His comrade; a pig, gave Bunnie and Antoine a thumbs up as a sign that the Lemming was not dead. "So am I in or out?" Sally asked.

Antoine sighed, and indeed gave in. So when Geoffrey got them lined up for role call before the main mission, Sally also joined in the role call despite Geoffrey giving her the look that always read "seriously?"

The First Squadron followed Geoffrey through the Great Forest. They had planned to divide themselves and scatter around in order to provide fear for Zazz like a pack cornering their prey. Sally was given the southeast coast all by herself, possibly as a test for her to complete by herself. So she took it.

There was not much disturbance around Sally's area except for one thing she just noticed. A fresh shoe marked footprint close to her own boots. It didn't look like it belonged to anyone she knew of, but that meant someone was around this area and could be either an intruder or someone just being lost. She wished she would go with the latter and help find their way home, but following a stranger does not count as a good sign in the Mobian wilderness. So she left it alone.

"Sally! What were you thinking? Slacking off like that?" Geoffrey agitated in his best angry, but parental voice. Sally tried to make an honest smile, but she shook her head and not think about the mysterious footprint at this time of need.

Before Sally could finish what she was thinking, a chattering noise filled their ears, making them turn to the source of that sound only to it being Kitty-Anna gripping onto her Burst Wispon tightly. Geoffrey lowered his mini crossbow and turned his attention right back to the ground where his interest was caught on. This was noticed by the others as well. Despite finding no one around. What did catch much of their interest was the three toed footprints; common zeti footprints.

"My only guess is that we just scared him away from the grounds." With this news, everyone cheered. Sally in turn, sighed. Geoffrey, however, smiled "Still think this was a waste, Your Highness? Not many bad guys would run away when they would know one of the best teams in the Acorn Army was coming after them."

"Well of course he would know we were around," Sally objected with a big grin on her face "That footprint in the east area sure got him suspicious. Just be calm I was glad you were around there or I would just think I was lost."

"What footprint? None of us were around that area except for you" Geoffrey stated with honest confusion. Sally's smile dropped at what the General pointed out. Now there was something circulating in her mind that made no sense. If no one she knew made that footprint, where did it come from?

Around nighttime where the Capital would lock its gates and dim some lights, Sticks the Badger had just got herself some firecrackers. What she thought about doing with them, she'll only think about that when she gets back to her self-created home.

Just when she felt safe to whistle, other sounds were made such as branches cracking and feet stepping on the ground. Then a shadow was formed on the trail with it covering hers. As if there was something actually behind her. Sticks took the untold dare and turned her head to what was actually behind her, screaming really loud at what she saw.
