10. #Alive and (almost again) dead

I grinned. "Ok, so what do we have for today's military games?"

Trust me, if you are not in a life and death situation, then Transoid is the best place to heal.

I less than no time, I was wearing my metal armour, which was really very good. I didn't felt pain anymore. I decided I will be fine in the games today.

Whatever the case, today's game was the real thing. People told me that I was the first master to be in the games, which was cool for me. Today's game was formulated by me myself, and I called it fort clash (A little hint, I was up to something).

The game was easy. Go to the fort dodging weapons with your army, and reach the centre. There were two teams, with any number of walls allowed.

I was the attack commander with Wolfram and Leo and Christine defended. She said that she was good at defence and I didn't want to argue.

Also, I needed to check out to my weapon's new abilities. Before this match, wolfram had told me that my weapon could take the form of any weapon and it had the ability to control elements.

Christine's sister flew on her dragon beside me. "This match seems easy." She said with a sigh.

"You don't seem to agree with your own point," I told her.

Her tone became dead serious. "Lord Apollo, you don't know what the other team is. Just look at their fortifications."

Well, she was right with her point. The fort seemed like it was made up of pure solid gold which can't be even melted. I am saying this because the only thing visible in front of me was a blank golden wall with archers on top. A cannon was pointing towards our fortification. It seemed no less than the cannon I have recently faced. The thought made me shudder.

The wall was covered with inscriptions in at least 50 different languages. It was extremely beautiful, but I have a personal experience that sometimes beautiful things are... well, how to define it? Dangerous? That's an understatement.

"Have you ever played dominoes?" I asked.

"I haven't, but isn't it your favourite game?" She asked.

"How do you know that?"

She laughed. "Christine told me."

"I never told her that!"

"You didn't?"

"No!"

She was about to say something, but she hesitated. Then she smiled and said: "Ask her yourself. Well, what were you telling me about dominoes?"

"Have you ever seen that game?"

"Christine was trying to build her own, so, yeah."

"Assume these walls are dominoes. Now, do you see my strategy?"

She whistled. "You are a genius."

"Tell me something new," I said without any enthusiasm (Final warning: If you want to make any guesses of what I am up to, without a spoiler, then now's the last chance. I have already given enough hint.).

"So," Wolf king screamed. "Ready? In 3, 2, 1, go!"

"Dive and strike!"I commanded her.

She followed my command. I concentrated. The first wall was the toughest. It was just too strong. I had to do something else...

An idea struck me. But Christine had told me to do nothing stupid.

I threw my cosmic thunder on the wall. It came to my hand in the form of a 4 feet huge spear with fire at one end and a lethal sword-like blade at the other end.

"Hey!" Wolfram complained.

"Leave me on the outer wall!" I commanded.

The wall was well guarded of course, but when would my new weapon come to work? The engulfed every bit of the wall in flames.

"Don't do anything stupid!" He said after leaving me on the wall.

"Wait for me at the bottom of the door."

Then I jumped.

No doubt I was height phobic, but I was prepared this time. Just before the bottom, I slowed my fall and landed easily. Then I concentrated and found that a whole army was rushing towards me from my right.

I did the easy thing: I played dominoes.

The weakest inner wall crashed, and like dominoes, every wall did.

I pointed the fiery tip of my spear upwards, and the falling debris turned to dust.

My army charged. I climbed wolfram again, but I wasn't prepared for weapons. A laser pointed in my direction, and a few missiles flew towards me.

I focused on water, and the element on my spear changed.

"Wolfram! Frost breath!" I pointed towards the nearest missile, and water shot out with wolfram's breath, turning weapons to ice.

"I like this weapon." He told me.

"Sure?"

He wisely decided to ignore that question.

Actually, I haven't confessed this yet, but my aim to play this game was to find the traitor, and my top suspect was Christine's sister.

Why? I didn't know. But I had a feeling that I was on the right track.

"Wolfram, you have to do something for me," I told him my plan.

"Christine is going to kill you and me."

"She will not know anything," I promised.

He sighed, "Get ready."

I shot water and he shot his breath at her.

Hey, I'm no kidnapper. But I didn't have a second choice.

Escaping was the easy part. I met Leo where he was supposed to be.

"Do it," I told him.

"Sure?" He asked.

"Yes, we don't have time! Do it!"

He injected her the solution.

Her eyes closed.

"Ready," Leo told me.

"Check. What is the name of your present master?"

Leo raised an eyebrow at me.

"Apollo Maximus Gallantus."

I looked at Leo in disbelief. He looked at me the same way. No one knew my full name, except dad and mom, of course.

Then I faced her again.

"How many spies does Saffric has?" I asked after I turned on the recording.

"2"

"You are one of the spies?"

"Yes."

"How do you know my full name?"

"Saffric told me."

"And who is-"

"Apollo!" Christine screamed from the top of the castle.

I saw her and noticed horror in her eyes. I thought it was because of her sister, but I was proved wrong when a dagger struck my back.
