It happened again after that day. Nico came often, always after another 'incident'. Normally sick and hurt, always from Percy. It was infuriating, seeing Nico hanging out with Percy, even after hurting him the night before. It was sickening, not just because of what Percy was doing but because I felt jealous. The more time I spent with Nico the more I fell in love with him. He was always on my mind, clouding my thoughts.

"Jason!"

"What?!" I jumped looking over at Reyna. She had a knowing smirk splayed on her face.

"You zoned out again," she explained.

"O-oh," I stutter, blushing. This had been happening way to often lately.

"Thinking about Nico?" she accused. My face heated up and I quickly looked away.

"N-no, I was just-um- trying to figure out this equation!" I exclaimed. We were sitting in the big rec room on the 2nd floor in the 'labyrinth'. I was sitting on my giant beanbag chair in front of the coffee table. Reyna was sitting across me with her usual braid wearing a giant dark purple blanket on her shoulders like a cape.

"Jason," she said shaking her head, "there aren't any equations on your English homework."

I look down at the rough draft of my short story for English sitting in front of me. I'm surprised my face hasn't turned into a tomato yet.

Then the doorbell rang. I shot up out of my beanbag chair.

"I'll get it!" I rushed out of the room. Reyna fell on her side laughing.

I speed walk down the halls trying to escape my close friend. We were all close now, Nico and Reyna really clicked, and he and Thalia were more related than me and Thalia. They knew all about each other and hung out with each other whenever I wasn't around, and when I was. If Thalia didn't have her vow and Nico wasn't gay they would probably be dating. Which would be awkward for me. Nico and I had also gotten pretty close. I was his Blonde Superman. I still needed to find a nick name for him. As of now he was just Nico the amazing, gorgeous boy I was utterly in love with. Or Neeks when I want to annoy him.

When I got to the stairs I rushed down them taking two at a time. I passed Thalia who was passed out on the couch with the TV still on.

When I finally got to the door I was surprised to find Nico outside. He normally came later and often spent the night, we even had some of his clothes.

His face was ruddy and he looked frustrated. His lip was jut out in a pout and his eyebrows knit. If I was being honest with myself I was fighting down a squeal. He looked so adorable. My heart beat hard against my chest and ached with longing. Then worry.

My eyes scanned him, looking up and down his body. He was wearing a crooked sweatshirt that was all black with a big skull wearing a crooked crown on the front. His hood was up and strands of midnight black hair stuck out and hung in his dark chocolate brown eyes. Thick black and gray striped pajamy pants sported his legs; they were too long and jumbled up over his black Allstar Converse.

He didn't seem hurt in anyway seeable but he was clutching a piece of paper in his hands.

"What's up, Neeks?" I smile. He glares at me but the pout playing his lips was just too cute, even though if I said it aloud he would beat my face in.

"How many time do I have to tell to stop calling me that!?" he says pushing past me into the house. I just smile and shut the door behind him.

"So, what's up?" I ask again. He looks away the blush on his cheeks turning a few shades darker.

"I don't understand," he says thrusting the paper at my chest. I took the paper away from him and held it away so I could read it. It was trigonometry homework, the same that Reyna is working on. (I'm not in the same class as themL)

I couldn't help but laugh, it was just adorable seeing the prodigy student who skipped a grade struggling with homework and then coming to his idiotic blonde friend help. Nico, who was still looking away, looks up at me. He shoves me but not hard enough to actually hurt me.

"Don't laugh!" he yells.

Sorry it was short but its sorta like a filler chapter, there will be a lot of these but then the big part happens right after, in like 3 more chapters or maybe 4
