As those gray doors opened, we could see two rebel soldiers, standing still, staring at us. We react considerably faster than them, quickly picking up the blasters and quickly killing them. We moved quickly through the corridors, and one of the Imperial soldiers had already located where the command room was. We advanced like a platoon, I in front, followed by the rest of the soldiers, running towards precisely the command room for the reinforcements to arrive.
I ran through those grayish corridors, and we found ourselves two doors from the room where the rebels had attacked us. We opened the doors, inside them, there was no one. We continued advancing again until we reached the control room, and again, there was no one. Well, that was not entirely true, if there was someone, the corpses of the officers who were in charge of that site with their greenish-gray suits like mine or even in some case, completely gray. Not a survivor was left, they all lay dead on the ground.
Decided, I informed my men that two of them were moving the corpses somewhere, to facilitate our work, that two soldiers would guard the door on the right and two others on the left. From the control room, you could see through those thick and elaborate windows so that they do not break, you could see the entire city which we had previously protected. The landscape was beautiful, from that height you could see the city, small black rocky mountains in the distance, and the most visible and precious of the whole site, were the lava rivers that could be seen everywhere. Those red rivers were beautiful. But we didn't have much time to look at the landscape, since what we were doing was trying to contact the planet with the closest star destroyers. I decided to contact the planet Corellia, producer of these ships.
As he was trying to send the message, the doors on the right were suddenly flung open, sliding upward, and lasers fired from the DH-17 weapon. One imperial soldier had been killed on the right and two on the left, the rebel soldiers had surrounded us.
At that time, there were only 22 Imperial soldiers left, not counting me. I ordered everyone to head for the gates and shoot as much as they could while I tried to send a message. Finally I was able to communicate with the desired planet:
- Lieutenant Jack Millerrc speaking. I'm in the Sullust system and would call for backup from you immediately. A rebel force with two cruisers, five frigates, a light cruiser and several Corellian ships have arrived on the planet and the space control of the planet is already completely rebellious, and on the surface it will not take long to be. We want reinforcements immediately !!
- We had been told it was a false alarm.
After informing the officer on the other side of the communicator that this had been sabotaged by the rebel forces, he understood. In sending the message, they replied that they will now inform coruscant to prepare the reinforcements, and they hung up. I could no longer communicate with them, but at that time we had more serious problems than those, such as the large number of rebels that we had around us trying to enter the room and eliminate them.
The rebels never tired of sending more and more soldiers to die at or near that gate. I headed close to the door. I took cover, settled my E-11 blaster, stepped out of cover, and fired at the rebels in front of me. As I left, I was met by 5 rebel soldiers, firing with their A-280, DH-17 and DL-44 blasters. I saw how I was in trouble, I just couldn't take them all down, but then, as I returned to my cover, I noticed something squeezed my leg, some round metal thing. I remembered my thermal detonator, when I noticed it, I took it out. Having the detonator, of that characteristic metallic color with small red lights, in my hand, I lit it, slowly, sliding my finger inside the soft glove above it. The red light blinked faster and faster, until I decidedly threw it down the hall.
It didn't take me long to hear the explosion, an explosion that was quite audible because of the enclosed space. The entire corridor was lit up a lot from the explosion of the detonator, and I could see how the control room was lit reddish and orange for a moment. Seeing the blast light go out, I stepped out of my cover and looked ahead. Soldiers that were previously either partially disintegrated or directly already were dust.
