A Snake's Vengeance Part 2 (Martis x Ruby Lemon)

"We'll see about that, Vampire Queen." came an ominous reply from the shadows which reverberated through the walls of the old house.

Ruby was once again left alone after Carmilla departed for the school week. She began researching the creature more in Roger's library and found another journal that contains the information regarding all the rooms and secret passages around the house. The most interesting thing she found in the book is the hidden dungeon where a snake symbol had been drawn instantly chilling her blood.

This couldn't be real. Something like that couldn't exist, right? Monsters aren't real. The only monsters there are in this world are humans too. There are no Ormdjurs, or Lamias, or Nagas just nasty humans with nasty intentions.

And yet her curiosity got the best of her giving her the stupidest of all ideas to investigate that place. Alone. Since Carmilla won't be here for another week again, so might as well check the grounds for possible unknown housemates and get to know them right? And according to Roger's book, the ormdjur should be tied in chains and the things she's experiencing are just extravagant coincidences and hallucinations. It is said that Loki's descendants are excellent in making illusions that can bend reality. Loki himself can intermingle in Midgard and leave some illegitimate demigods when he feels like fucking so maybe Jörmungandr too and his spawn. But she can rest assured that nothing bad will happen to her because Roger made sure that "Monster's" chains are unbreakable till the end of time.

With that idiotic thought in mind, Ruby began exploring the dungeons in the morning where the blinking fluorescent lights illuminated her ominous path. She followed the map she found in the first journal and began making her way through some nasty twist and turn. The occasional snakeskin didn't help her growing paranoia but at least they were small and not 10 meters long.

"This is stupid. All I got to do is live in this house for 365 days, don't explore, read the book, and follow the guidelines and then I'll be rich. But what the fuck am I doing in a stinky dungeon? What was I really trying to find? It's not like a snake monster really exists and lives here with me. That would be preposterous and I would be sent to the loony bin."

Ruby's heart nearly stopped working when she felt the wood under her feet crack due to her weight. She instantly went rigid as fear and panic capture her heart.

No no no no! This isn't happening to her right now.

Ruby knew exactly what this is. It's not merely an old rickety floor but a booby trap. The floor is like a trap door that shatters at 25 kg weight leading down to the deeper dungeon. How can she forget such an important thing?!!! Well in her defense Roger never specified where it starts so yeah... It's his fault. But there's no time pointing fingers at a guy rotting 6 feet underground! She needs to get out of here fast but the slightest movement is making the floor crack faster.

Why is this hall so fucking wide? She doesn't know where to jump. With all her panic, she failed to notice something sneaking up behind her until she heard the creaking of the sturdy floorboard. Ruby's eyes widen as she turned her head only to see a ginormous snake with a man's body on top. She was so astounded that she forgot her current dilemma and took a step back only for the floorboard to break under her weight plunging her downwards.

She couldn't keep up with all the things happening to her all at once that she fainted. She was embraced by the comforting darkness and submerged into the depths of unconsciousness.

Ruby awoke and found herself in an unfamiliar place. Her muscles felt languid and her stomach felt like it wanted to be vomited out of her throat while her head pounded with a terrible headache. She groaned and placed her hand on the surface of where she's laying only to feel it twitch with the smallest contact immediately alarming her.
