Today was no different to any other day, the sky cloudless and the children screaming. Tommy and Tubbo were running around training with wooden weapons for the upcoming battle, and being over dramatic whenever they were hit. You are watching them, and giving them tips on their form. You were the best warrior in L'Manburg, yet have been reduced to a babysitter while your leader, Wilbur, was out.
Not that you were really complaining, but you could be doing so much more than watching a couple of teenage boys runaround with sticks and pike each other. You lean back in your chair that's next to the RV, and look up at the clear sky. It was peaceful, until you heard a scream coming from one of the boys.
"Alright, what happened?" You bark over towards them as you walk over. You spot the blondie on the ground, clutching his head.
"TUBBO THAT BASTARD HIT ME ON MY HEAD." He yelled as the rolled over onto his side. You know that he's just bing a drama queen, so you let out a small chuckle.
You glance over at Tubbo "I-I didn't mean to!" Tubbo stammered as he backed away from Tommy. You looked at him and started to laugh. The brunette looked confused, thinking that you were going to be mad.
"Well," you start "if you can strike down Tommy, then we know who the better fighter is." You smiled as you looked at the blondie starting to stand up. That got Tommy off the ground. Tommy looked shocked, then offended by what you just said.
Tommy laughed for a second before saying "Uh, no. Tubbo isn't better than me, I let him have that win so when I beat him next time, he feels stupid" You looked at him and nodded, humming in sarcastic agreement. You start to walk back over to your chair, then Tommy started to speak again. "You know, we shouldn't be sitting here and doing nothing. I say, we go and prank Dream."
You stop in your tracks as Tommy continues on. "We could throw trash on his lawn or break a pillar of his castle. Something to show that green bastard that we aren't scared of him!" You turn to him, looking serious. His smile falters for a second before he adds, "Oh come on (y/n), we could totally pull something like that off. Don't be such a wimp." You start to walk back over to him, and as you approach, Tommy starts to back away. Him being 6'1, while you being under 5'10, should have him being the intimidating one. Yet, as you get closer, Tommy starts to look more and more nervous. As you finally get in front of him, he tries to smile but it looks more like a grimace.
"That," you pause for a moment, contemplating you next words carefully, "would be treason against our country unless permitted by Wilbur. However, if he doesn't find out, then I guess it wouldn't be too bad."
The boys faces light up, mostly because they were worried that you would rat them out to Wilbur. The thought did cross your mind, yet you couldn't break their spirits. The impending war has already been rough on everyone, and this could bring up their spirts.
Tommy runs off to the caravan before you could even ask him what they would be doing. Tubbo follows, and a minute later they exit holding diamond pickaxes and water buckets. You sigh, thinking that this was going to turn out horrible, but you couldn't let them down now.
...................
As you approach your destination, which Tommy still hasn't told you, you start to realize where you were. "Have to get more supplies." was all Tommy said before rushing into the Embassy, his old home before L'Manburg. He takes a minute, which you spend being on high alert for anybody that could see you in enemy lands. The blonde boy exits, and with a wicked smile on his face, reveals that he is holding a bucket of lava. He wills it to disappear, before you start moving again. Nobody knows how it works, but you all have a pocket in space to store your things when you don't want it in your hands.
By the time the sun has fully set, you arrive at Dreams castle. You don't even know what the man looks like, but you aren't afraid. Tubbo begins to look nervous, and tugs on your sleeve like a child.
"What if- what if this is a bad idea? I mean, what if we get caught?" Tubbo sputters out. You dont blame him for having second thoughts. Before you can comfort him, Tommy buds in, apparently overhearing the conversation.
"Come on Tubbo, don't be a P-Word." The blonde yells. You shush him, reminding him that you're in enemy territory.
Tommy begins to tower up to the top of the castle, and you follow with Tubbo taking in the rear. Tommy pours the lava down from the roof of the castle, and the hot liquid cascades down the walls. He then places water over the lava, having it turn to a deep purple stone. He laughs, prompting another shush by you, and starts to head back down. Looking up, you feel proud of what you did, or of what Tommy did. Tubbo, on the other hand, still looked worried. You place your hand in his, squeezing it to tell him its all right.
You didn't know how wrong you were until you hear someone clear their throat from behind you. You whir, around sword drawn and a hand in front of Tubbo to protect him. Tommy took a second longer, still in his own world about the griefing he did. You yell his name, and he turns around, almost tripping when he saw who it was.
The man looked up and down at the castle, and makes a noise of approval. Nobody was comforted by it, because they knew who this man was before he even said his name. The green gave it away, and the mask that covered the top half of his face was the nail in the coffin. Another man was seen exiting the woods a second later. His curly hair and the royal blue uniform body stalked over towards your group, before seeing the man in front of you. He stops, and a look of terror runs across his face.
"Wilbur, how nice to see you here." The green man spoke. "Do you know about what happened here?" Wilbur started to walk again, this time with less confidence.
"No I do not." He looked at your group with disappointment in his eyes. "They acted without my orders. What they did was unacceptable, and they will be punished under the L'Manburg law."
"Ah, that won't cut it." The green man walked closer to Wilbur. "They griefed my house in my country. I'm afraid I'll have to take the leader of this little group with me." He turned to your group, examining each of you to find out which one was the mastermind. "If the leader could please step out, that'll make my night so much easier."
Tommy began to step forward, until you walked in front of him. "It was me," you say, "I'm the one who lead the group here, and I'm the one who created the obsidian."
"Y/n," Tommy starts, but you put a hand in front of him to silence him. The green man, looking satisfied, walks towards you. He towers above you, making you feel intimidated, but not letting it show.
"Well, I guess that settles it." The green man turns to Wilbur. "I'll be taking them. And remember what I said earlier. White flags by tomorrow."
The green man grabs your arm before you could even say goodbye to your friends, and drags you into the newly decorated castle. Tommy looks like he's on the verge of tears, while Tubbo has already started to cry. Your last view of them was Wilbur dragging them along the Prime Path, back to the safety of L'Manburg.
You look up at the man, and the realization of the situation sets in. You have to make sure who you're dealing with first, so you ask him the first question on your mind.
"Who are you?"
He lets out a small chuckle and looks down at you, the blank smiley face on his mask illuminated by the torches by the door of the castle. "Dream."
