My name is Hailey Matrez. And that it what I am called at my high school. However, only a few people know this... my real name is Vanessa Bonseque. I'm a celebrity, a supermodel and aspiring actress to be exact, well-known for my exquisite beauty.
When I walk out there, I hear different.
Beautiful. Gorgeous. Alluring. Goddess. Extraordinarily pretty. Angel. Alluring. Sexy. Doll.
Flawless sun-kissed skin, large golden eyes, long dark lashes, high cheekbones, silky bronze curls, full rose colored lips, a button nose, an hourglass figure. Perfect. Lovely.
Trust me, it's tiring.
In fact, it's actually refreshing to be called "ugly" for once.
"She is so ugly," a jock sneered as he passed by, and he and his friends laughed. I rolled my eyes. Stupid boys. If they knew who I was, they'd be begging me to go out with them.
"You are such a retarded pig," Mackenzie, the leader of the popular clique announced. She twirled long blonde hair around a finger, powdering her nose. "Look how ugly you are. Who knew someone could be so deformed? We're you, like, dropped as a baby?"
"Yes," I replied calmly. "I was. Kindly piss off now, will you? Your perfume is way too strong, you know."
'What!" she screeched.
"It kinda is," Jessica whispered.
"Shut up!" Mackenzie seethed, face glowing red. "We're leaving."
"Bye, hun," I smirked.

"I heard her beauty is all natrual!"
"What?! She didn't get plastic surgery? Like, not a little bit?"
"No. There's her childhood photos, and she hasn't changed. She was always a goddess, even when she was a child."
"I'm so jealous."
I overheard whispers around me as I stepped out of my white limousine, my heels landing on the lush red carpet. Camera flashes startled my eyes, but I was used to it enough not to squint. My dress was midnight blue, off-the-shoulder and shimmery. It was from the exclusive Winter Collection, which hasn't even been released yet.
Smiles, I told myself. I faked a smile, but my insides squirmed with hate.
I'd prefer being called ugly any day over this.
