Backstage

Colby walked into the venue with Cali following closely behind him and Rebecca holding tightly to his hand. He was summoned to the venue by the head officials of the company, who called him early last week asking if he would be willing to come by when they were in town to speak with Vince and Hunter. Colby wasn't sure what this meeting was about since it had been years since he'd worked with the company but he was pretty sure he had an idea.

After talking it over with Rebecca and mulling it over with his mother for hours on end, he decided that he would come to the meeting, talk to them and see what they had to say but had no intentions of giving them an answer to whatever their proposition was right away, he would make them wait.. not because he was holding out for a better offer but he wanted to be sure whatever the offer was that he was 1000% sure it was something he wanted and something he could sustain with his growing family.

Colby reached for Cali's hand as they made it through the security barriers backstage to find the little girl was no longer by his side.

"Where did she go?" He asked as he turned around and Rebecca looked for her as well only to find the little girl standing at the end of the hallway, staring at something on the wall "Cali.." Colby walked towards his daughter "What are you looking at?" He followed her finger that was pointed at the wall and there it was, in a giant frame on the wall a photo of himself from many years prior, holding the biggest title in the company

"That's so cool!" Cali exclaimed

"You've seen pictures of me like this before"

"Yeah but not that one" she said, she was mesmerized by it

"Has she ever seen you wrestle?" Rebecca questioned and Colby shook his head

"Heather and I agreed to try and keep her away from it, she came to a few shows when she was less than a year old before Heather's health went downhill but she was so small that she doesn't remember any of it"

"So this is her first time too" Rebecca nodded "I'm not alone! Someone to be confused with me! Yay!"

"There is nothing to be confused about.." Colby shook his head

"There's everything to be confused about, I mean.. who do I talk to? I don't know anybody here" she shook her head and he smiled

"It may not even be anything you have to worry about.. this might just be us visiting for the day and then we're out"

He checked in with one of the many producers who informed Vince and Hunter that he was here, he was shown to catering while they waited for the bosses to be ready for him.

"Hell just froze over!" Colby heard the voice as he walked into the large room where catering was and he knew it instantly, it was the voice of one Kevin Owens "Long time no see" he said as he shook Colby's hand

Kevin and Colby had traveled together for years, they were opponents in the ring but outside they shared more in common than people realized.

"Are you coming back?" Kevin asked

"I'm here to talk.. no decision yet" Colby nodded and looked to Rebecca who was taking in the many different people in the room "this is Rebecca" he said

"It's a pleasure to meet you" Kevin shook her hand politely

"Likewise" Rebecca smiled and looked up at Colby giving him a small glare that only he caught, she was shy in these situations with new people
