Hey guys, this is my very first story so if it is bad, please don't be to harsh. I would like feedback from you guys and a few pointers wouldn't hurt. Well, that is it and I hope you enjoy: The Dragon's Curse.
I was running again. I was always running. No matter how fast I ran, THEY always came after me. I couldn't even remember my own name, all I can remember is the sound of gravel crunching under my boots, the forest zipping past, and the voices of THEM speaking into my head, and the box.
"SHUT UP!" I yelled as the voices kept trying to make me stop and give up so THEY could have there easy lunch.
I was going to die, I knew that, but I just had to reach my cabin so that when I did die, that was going to be THEIR fatal mistake. So, I just kept running as fast as could go with just one though in my mind. The box. As I kept running from THEM I saw it, my cabin. It was a very old one with the walls crumbling down and the door half its way of its hinges. People would stay far away from thinking that it was haunted and all of the crap. It was just an old cabin that I hide all of my magical items, one of which was the box.
(FLASHBACK)
"Dad, what is this"
I look over my book that I was reading and freeze in anger, surprise, and terror
"Where did you get that." I say in a calm but rough tone.
"From the chest under your bed, why do you have a chest under your bed dad." Jack said in a Innocent voice.
I didn't here the answer, all I saw was the Rubik's Cube sized box inside the small hands of my son. His finger was only an inch from the trigger button. If his son moved his finger a little to the right, all hell would break lose.
"Son, please put the box down very, very carefully please."
He looked at me like I was crazy. "Put it down?"
"Yes, please do as your are told and put it down and we may go out for ice cream." I said hoping that it would do the trick.
"OK." Jack said dropping the box to the ground with a thud. I filch at the sound but lucky the button wasn't pushed.
"Alright, go get your coat and meet me outside, OK."
"Alright, YES, YES, YES." He yelled all the way to his room. I just shook my head and picked up the box. It was pretty, that was for sure. The craving of the dragon on it was majestic in every way possible. Its eyes were sapphire blue and her body was as deep red as blood. I walk with it in my hand over to my room and set it down inside the now open chest were I had my books, my potion, and my little spot where I placed the cube in perfectly.
"DAD, ARE YOU COMING."
I laughed and closed the chest. I put it back under my bed and placed the key on the top of the door frame so Jack couldn't get it again. I grabbed my own coat and walked outside to meet Jack and to go to Papa's Fro Yo Ice Cream Joint or P-F Y-I-C-J.
(END FLASHBACK)
I ran all the way to the cabin and rushed inside. I quickly turned right and ran straight into my old room. I looked up and grabbed the key on top of the door frame and pulled out the chest. I struggled to unlock the chest with all the voices inside my head but finally, the chest popped open and I took the box into my hands and waited for THEM to come.
