Hello, I'm Trudy. I've always been a romantic and I love to imagine what it must have been like to live in times past. I took up reading again (historical fiction and American history are my favorites) a few years ago around the time my third child was born. And this was after a long hiatus when I thought I was too busy to read! There's always time for a good book.

I only recently discovered that I enjoy writing. After falling in love with the BBC's miniseries, North and South, I devoured fanfic for the first time in my life. Something about the characters and the love story resonated with me. I began imagining an alternative plot that would bring the star-crossed lovers together sooner.

Eventually, I put my imaginings down on paper and found a mentor to help guide me and look over my work. Thanks, Kleindog, for taking the initiative to offer me assistance! Before long, I was posting my story on a BBC affiliate web forum.

I live in the San Francisco bay area with my husband and three kids. We like to take walks along the ocean and hike the redwood forests when we can.

I am a musician as well, and play the organ on Sundays at a small church. Lately, I have found it hard to concentrate on my music when my mind is wandering - dreaming up the next scenes in my story!

I homeschool my two older children, so needless to say, I don't have a lot of time to write. I work in the mornings before everyone wakes up. I have always been a morning person. I love the quiet promise of a brand new day.
