The end of the year arrived and a new beginning was going to unfold its wings.  After the Nikkah ceremony, things had changed a lot in the Malik household. Saturday night was decided. The kids were going out for movies and luckily they got permission from both the parents. Since Mehra and Amaar were officially a couple now, they allowed to go out together without any conservative restrictions.

"Ari five more minutes and I'm dragging you out by your hair," Amaar yelled from the other side of the door and knocked impatiently.

"I'm out. Don't you dare touch me." She stepped outside into her room with a finger pointing at him to which he only rolled his eyes annoyed.

"Drama queen! Can we go now?" He signalled at the door with both hands in utter frustration.

"So desperate." She retorted back.

They waited by Amaar's car outside for Mehra to join them but to both the siblings' amusement, they saw Danial getting out of the house and walking beside her. He looked up spotting Arina and gave her a wide grin. It had been a week since their last encounter in person at the engagement. She had visibly reduced her contact with him to texts and phone calls only which didn't go unnoticed by him but she couldn't tell him how bothered she was with what happened between them. Evidently, he didn't give it much of a thought.

Mehra reached them and gave Amaar a bright smile, to which he only raised an eyebrow in return. She understood his unspoken question and grabbed Danial by the arm affectionately.

"It's new year and Danial dropped his plans for me. Dad wouldn't give me permission otherwise." Mehra explained with false annoyance. Arina stared between all three of them, confounded. Danial's presence was making her nervous but not more than Amaar's glare directed at him. She couldn't understand his sudden change of behaviour.

Amaar curtly nodded at her and signalled her towards the car. Opening the passenger door of the car, he smiled at Mehra but eyed his sister with concern. Arina shook her head at him, disapproving his overprotectiveness over her and slightly nudged Mehra to go ahead. Mehra settled herself in the passenger's seat, feeling slightly nervous.
