Before we get started, this fanfic is dedicated to a Wattpad friend of mine, @SheHadSeenEverything. She has been through a lot this year and as such, I had decided to dedicate this fanfic in her name. I hope you enjoy it, @SheHadSeenEverything and anyone else who reads this. This fanfic was a long time coming, so I hope it is worth it.
*DISCLAIMER: In NO way is this fanfic suppose to reflect that of the dedicatee's actual life and is written the way it is for story purposes*

Without further ado, onto the fanfic!!!

A grandfather clock ticked melodically. Its brown casing vibrating whenever it rung. You sat on your large brown couch, reading over a newspaper. You didn't really read it as much as you did skim over any articles that caught your eye. Before you laid a large fireplace and television near it surrounded by a grand bookcase lingered with books and other works. Although much of your furniture was grand and large, your actual house was rather small. It was two stories, with the top floor being nothing but your bedroom along with a bathroom. Everything else was on the ground floor. A knock followed by a ring came to your door. You stopped reading and looked up. You made your way over to your door where a envelop laid on the floormat from the mail slip hole engraved into the door. You picked it up and turned it over. It had a 's' symbol on it with red highlighting. You sat down on your couch and opened it. Before you was a letter. It read:

"Dear Y/n + L/n.
I'm writing to inform you that you have been chosen to work on my railway on the beautiful island of Sodor! A train from the island will be there May 15, XXXX at Shining Time Station at approximately 10:30 AM. While the train is in the area, you are to take it to get to the island. Once you arrive at the island, you will be taken to Knapford Station. Once there, please come over to my office, where I will discuss with you the work you will be doing on the island.
Sincerely,
Sir Topham Hatt."

You couldn't believe it. You looked up to a family portrait that hung above the fireplace. Your eyes met your father.
"I guess it's my turn now, huh?", you said.
Since the 15th was tomorrow, you decided to pack all your things that night so all you had to do the next day was wake up, bathe, get dressed and head out to catch your train.
