houses love you this house loves you
every room croons your name
like all rooms in all houses previously
we have occupied so much space
together - your orange fridge and i -
as you move from beneath one roof
to below the next - each one vies
for you more than the one before
all you say becomes a wisdom
all you do becomes an offering
all you think becomes you.
i am blown away by the flame that pours
from walls and flows down stairs
of this haven this harbour
that watches over us while trailing you
we move in your shadow
guided by your sure footed step
on these playful floors that love your cat and you
these bathrooms that breathe your name
and gardens that green and grow for you
goddess of all that is touched by your big hands
