we live side by side in gardens of thorn
she does not speak but she looks at me
from the corner of her eye and sighs
messages that leave me troubled for
the safety of my true love.
my love is strong like me
we fear not what we meet under the stones
she is stronger than i and carries me
high on shoulders or her back
she takes me where i cannot go,
she takes me there.
my love goes to battle, naked
she slays what is darker than night seas
she sings hymns of our blood and bones
i follow her lead and finish her verses
she can make or break these chains,
she can find true love for me.
now my love looks in your ocean eyes
fierce and strong in combat, she accepts
her strength with strength, the love
that leads us, follows us in turn,
equal and unafraid to give
and get, we win each other over.
my love sings to her true love now
