Chapter3: "Malfoy!?"

HERMIONES POV:
my tears slowly stop flowing down my face, Taking my time I let out a small but heavy sigh and start to drive. Not wanting to bother Harry and Ginny I decided to go to a hotel, we checked, now.. for the part I was dreading I would have to tell my kids what's happening sooner or later. I slowly gesture my hands for them to take a seat on one of the beds, taking a breath in I begin...

"ok, as you both most likely overheard.. your f-father, well um-" I began but was quickly cut off by my oldest rose

"our dad cheated on you.." I slowly nodded my head not sure what to say seeing as they already knew.

"Well..you both understand that we will obviously be getting a divorce..r-right?" I say with completely unsteadiness.

"Whatever!" Hugo quickly yells and and entered the bathroom.

"M-mom we-I am here for you ok? I know Hugo has his problems not being able to express his feelings about this but I can"

Starting to tear up I pull my daughter in to a tight hug, she was right Hugo did have a problem expressing his feelings.. 'just like his father' I thought to myself. Shaking my head to remove my thought I wipe off the reaming tears left on my daughters face "I love you both so much" I say trying my hardest not to break down in front of my daughter.

"I love you too mom" she quietly whispers. "I'm going to check on Hugo mom I will try to talk to him for y-you" she quietly says

Rose quickly hops off the bed and talks to Hugo about being there for me as much as he was struggling to get out this own feelings. I didn't expect Hugo or Rose to be there for me because I would expect them both to be sad or mad or anything but no rose was doing her best to stay strong for me and that melts my heart. As for Hugo I'm ok with him not wanting to do what Rose is doing I understand that he just isn't the best when it comes to feelings and especially expressing his.

"I'm sorry mom" Hugo whispers and runs to me and hugs me as tightly as possible

I slowly pull back "Hey! You have nothing to be sorry about! Ok?" He nods "I love you Hugo" I whisper

" love you too mom" he whispers

"Ok! How about we go get some ice cream and come back here and watch some movies?" I say trying to be as strong as possible

"Yea!!" Hugo and Rose say in unison excited.

"Ok Hugo which flavor do you want?" I ask

"Umm oh! I know! Vanilla!!" He says with excitement

"Can I have strawberry?!" Rose says excitedly

"Of course!" I say excited that they are happy .. for now at least "ok you both sit over there and I will bring the ice cream over ok?"

"Ok mom! Come one Hugo!" Rose runs over grabbing Hugo's hand to pull him over to a table

"I hate you Ronald weasley" I whisper looking at my kids as they look so happy I wish everything could be ok but no...

"Ahh I see I'm not the only one you doesn't like weasel very much"

"Wh- Malfoy!?" I looked at him shocked that he heard me and that he was there..standing there beside me was draco malfoy!

"The one and only" he giggled

"What do you want?" I say rolling my eyes knowing he would never talk to me especially about Ron

"What happened? Where's weasel I see your kids and you of course but no weasel" he says as he smirks

"If you must know why Ron isn't here it's because he..he uh-m" I try to get the words out but I can't than suddenly I hear my daughter blurt it out

"My dad cheated on my mum!" Rose says making sure all three of us heard her.

I bend down and hug Rose knowing she is obviously not ok. I look at her with an apologizing look and tell her "everything is going to be ok I-I promise" our for heads now touching

"I love you mom" she whispers

Tears now threatening to fall out I whisper back "I love you too Rosie, now go sit with your bother I will be there in a minute" she runs off wiping her tears away as she quickly puts her head on Hugo's shoulder

"Granger I-Im so sorry I didn't-"
Draco starts but I quickly cut him off

"No..don't be, anyways I'm sure it'll be out in the daily prophet by tomorrow morning anyways" I slightly giggle wiping my tears away

"I Know.. that's awful! Anyway good luck with everything see you around granger" he says as he winks and give me the famous draco malfoy smirk. I couldn't help but laugh a little 'thank you draco malfoy for lighting up my day a little bit' I thought to myself. Wow Malfoy has really changed he didn't even insult me- wait what! What am I thinking he was probably just feeling sorry for me or something along those lines

"Ok kids here is one strawberry ice cream for Rose and one vanilla ice cream for Hugo" I announce placing the ice cream in front of them.

"Thank you mum!" Rose and Hugo say in unison with excitement filled in there tones. My mind is hectic right now thinking of so many things at once 'where are we going to live?' 'When are we getting the divorce' I quickly shook my head as I watched my kids 'everything is going to be ok' I thought as I smiled at them both
