Equation Thirty-Eight. Hearts. Broken.

Nikos' POV

   Everytime I see Chaerin sad, pati ako ay nasaktan din. She didn't seserve to experience those kind of unacceptable feelings. I want to took all her pains away but I can't. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako magsisimula. Gusto kong suntukin si Jirou hanggang sa malumpo siya sa lahat-lahat ng ginawa niya kay Chaerin, hindi ko ma-imagine na ganito pala siya ka-gago!

I heard from Chaerin that it's been weeks ago since she signed to those annulment papers. But it's like a lifetime whenever I see her being stressed out. Alam na rin ng kanya-kanya nilang pamilya ang tungkol sa annulment. Everyone got a weary heart.

   Nandito pa rin sa unit ko nakatira si Chaerin, Maple University, kahit wala na ang scholarship foundation na pinapatakbo ni Mrs. Sue-Chien. Sinalo ko na ang pag-aaral niya. Well she's really doing good in class.. Isa rin siyang Dean's Lister and I'm happy with that. Kahit gusto niya magtrabaho, hindi ako pumayag. Ayoko na kasing dagdagan ang stress niya. Nangangayayat na siya at malungkutin.. I don't wanna see her being like that and it hurts me that much because I over so much.

"Hi Nikos." Si Chaerin. I am actually waiting her on my car. I'm planning to take her somewhere, part of our history.

I smiled. "Oh there you are sleepy head. Pasok na."

Then she entered the car. "Saan ba tayo pupunta Nikos?"

"Wag mo na munang alamin okay??"

"Alam mo namang ayoko ng mga surprises ehh  "

"Don't be such a scaredy cat. Di kita ipapahamak   "

"Oo na po Sir Nikos."

"That sounds awful."

"Sus." then we laughed

Mabuti at nakatulog si Chaerin at hindi niya alam kung saan kami pupunta. But I know she'll be happy to see that place still, kahit palaging haggard-looking siya, maganda pa rin. That's one of the things I really like about her.

"Chaerin,wake up. Nandito na tayo."

Dahan-dahan naman siya nagmulat ng mata at nag-inat. "Asan tayo Nikos?"

I just smiled at her.. "Bumaba na."

Pagbaba namin sa kotse, nauna na akong naglakad sa kanya. I'll let her remember some memories that were left behind.

"Nikos, parang alam ko ang lugar na 'to ah. Ito 'yung soccer field mo!"

Di na lang ako nagsasalita, gusto kong siya ang makaalala ng mga memories namin dito.

"Bakit tayo nandito? Anong meron?"

Still, hindi ko pa rin siya sinasagot.

"Nikos naman oh, sagutin mo nga ako. Pwedeng magsalita." Hinila niya ang sleeve ng shirt ko.

" I know you remember this place. Ang simula ng lahat.." Nagpatuloy lang kami sa paglalakad at nang makapasok kami sa field, nagsimula na rin ang pagbukas ng mga lights isa-isa. In-offer ko 'yung kamay ko sa kanya.

"Let's go?"

She just smiled. So perfectly that I wanted to hold her for the rest of my life. As she reached for it, I know it will not last to the extent of my expectations—for a while will do. When we stopped at the center of the whole field, I was taken aback to notice a cry from Chaerin.
