Chapter 13 - O Come, All Ye Faithful

MacKenzie's POV

"No Weather Witch in sight." Nora says over the comms

"Okay, Singh cleared the perimeter, so it's free of civilians." Caitlin says

"And our satellites are on weather watch for our Weather Witch." Cisco says

I watch the computers

"Nothing yet." Cisco says

"What?" Sherloque says through the comms. "I wouldn't say nothing." Caitlin and I share a look. "My data leaves me to conclude that there is artificially-created pressure system of uncertain origin headed rapidement toward the downtown core."

"Listen, Galileo, you can lick your finger and stick it in the wind all you want." Cisco says. "Why don't you leave the actual calculations to actual compu... Oh, for Christ's sake."

"And your exasperation leads me also to conclude that you have realized, although late, that once again I'm right." Sherloque says. "I'm right. I'm right. I'm right. I'm right."

Cisco bangs the keyboard and Sherloque's comms get cut off

"That's enough out of you." Cisco says

"She's here." Nora says. "So the rotten apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

"You're a poet. Awesome." Weather Witch says. "Where's my dad?"

Barry speeds in

"All right, Joss, we held up our end of the bargain." Barry says. "You got your dad. There's no reason to hurt anybody--"

Before we know it, Barry and Nora are thrown in the wall with lightning and Joss' father is squashed under a car

"Holy..." I whisper as Caitlin pulls my gaze away from the surveillance cameras

"Oh, oh, don't feel bad." Joss says. "He was a selfish dick who abandoned his family. Anyway, thanks for helping me drop a truck on my dad."

Joss' dad, who is actually Iris in STAR Labs but hologrammed onto the street glitches

"Uh... guys?" Iris asks. "What now?"

The hologram glitches away as Iris takes the hologram tech off of her face

"I didn't see the Hummer coming." Iris says

"I'm so pissed!" Joss yells. "This city will drown, crumble, burn, because of you!"

Joss disappears

Nora saves Barry from another lightning strike

"Thanks." Barry tells her. "I'm gonna follow her."

"Wait, are you serious right now?" Nora asks

"What?" Barry asks

"You almost just died." Nora tells him. "Again, and you don't seem to care."

"Where is this coming from?" Barry asks. "You know how dangerous our job is."

"Yeah, but I don't want to lose you again, but you don't seem to give a damn if you lose me or Mack, and... and all for your job." Nora says upset

"Nora." Barry tries

Nora speeds away

"Mack." Barry's voice says

I look up from my notebook and see him in the doorway of the workroom

I pull my feet off the desk as he walks over and pulls a chair up next to me
