Forever And Always

Chapter 19

Bella P.O.V

The next morning we woke up earlier than what we used to and head to the police station where they would escort us to the airport and we would fly a privet jet to Nevada.

The flight was about four hours long, I couldn't stop shaking my leg, impatient to get there. Edward trying to calm me down would just take my hand and kiss it, whispering calming words to me.

I remember the last time we came here, we were on our way to the beach in California four years ago. After that we never came back, school and college never gave us a chance, and now this.

As we walked out of the airport the hot air of Las Vegas hits me. Extremely hot. In seconds I can feel sweat began to form in the back of my neck. I take my sweater off and get in the car that seemed to be as hot as a microwave.

"It's so damn hot," I sigh, taking Edward's hand.

"Last we came here wasn't this hot, wasn't it?" Edward asked.

"I don't remember," I say, laying on his shoulder.

Minutes in the car went by as we passed Las Vegas. Traffic wasn't that bad, we got to the neighborhood where people claim to see Tanya around with a baby in less than thirty minutes.

We got off the car, Edward lead me where the others were. There are voices but I can't hear them clearly. A women begans to talk.

"Yeah, yeah. She was here yesterday asking me how to do the formula for newborn babies," she said.

"Was she with a baby?" Jacob asked.

"Yes. It was a cute little baby boy. I carried him, he had these big green eyes and chocolate soft hair, his skin was so soft... Niña," she said. There were steps and my hand is taken by a ashy one. "Niña, you are the mother, aren't you?"

I breath. "Yes, that baby was my son."

"Don't worry, that women lives just a few blocks from here. She's probably there right now with the baby."

"Thank you," I sob, "thank you so much."

"Alright, everyone head to the address she just gave us!" Jacob said.

Edward says thank you to the women and leads me back to the car. It doesn't take long until we reach the house that the women claimed she lived.

"Wait here," Edward tells me.

"What? No, no, I wanna go with you," I sob. "Please, Edward."

"Love, please wait here with Leah. I'll be back." He kissed me one last time and went off.

"Everything is going to be okay, Bella," I hear Leah say.

Edward P.O.V

Jacob and I walk towards the house. The house is brown, with the window covered by wood, the door seems old as well as the paint. There's graffiti on the walls. The yard it's just rocks and sand, like the rest.

Jacob knocks on the door once and when he gets no answer he hands me a gun.

"Do you know how to shoot?" He asked me.

I nod. "I had classes in Chicago."

I raise the gun up like Jacob and he kicked the door down. We rush inside without saying a word, the rest behind us. He makes a sign to me to follow him and the rest check the house.

We enter a room where we find a crib, baby bottles and a bed. We look all over the place but there are no signs of Tanya.

"Fuck," I sighed, putting the gun down.

"She knew we were coming," Jacob snapped.

I sigh, looking at the crib. There a teddy bear in there, all old looking and wasted. Then, something pops in my mind.

"When I was with Tanya," I say, looking at Jacob, "she used to say that the only way she felt safe was... Going to Wallace Falls."

Jacob frowned. "What?"

"She right now feels herself in danger, she fears something. Her parents owned a little cattle and she told me that when she felt sad or threaten, she went over there."

I walk out to the crib and take the bear. "This used to be hers, think about it. What do you do when you feel threaten?"

"Need to feel... Safe." Then Jacob realizes what I'm trying to say. "Tanya fled to Wallace Falls."

~~~~ Back In Forks ~~~~

When Bella fell alseep I asked my mom to take care of her while I went to the police station.

When I arrive, Jacob leads me to the conference room. Everyone surrounds the table and listens.

"Alright, so as I told you," Jacob said. "There's a possibility that Tanya could be anywhere in Wallace Falls. We can't make to much noise so we'll send people undercover to walk around the area and look for the cattle Mr. Denali described us."

"Yeah, but what are the-"

"Jacob," Leah walked in, "we have another lead."

"What is it?" I asked.

"Her phone. She called Charlie, he gave us her phone number and is willing to help get her caught."

"Now, he's willing," I mutter. "We can use him to trick her."

Jacob smiled. "We're you a detective before?"

I laughed. "No."

"Well, you sure are smart. Tanya hopefully doesn't know that Charlie is being charged, he can be a really big help," Jacob said. "Get him in my office, I shall have a little chat with him."

When I got home, Bella was waiting with Daisy sitting on the porch. She doesn't seem to be here mentally, her eyes are starting off in space, her lips slightly opened.

"Bella?" I come closer.

She shakes her head. "Um, hey," she slightly smiled.

"Are you okay?" I asked, pulling Daisy next to me so I can sit next to Bella.

"Just... Thinking."

"About Bruno," I guessed.

"Yeah," she sighed, laying her head on my shoulder. "I'm just tired, really tired. I don't get why this had to happen, I mean, why us?"

"I don't know, either. We just have to stay strong, soon, you'll see that Bruno will come back. I'm helping Jacob, Charlie is also going to help. I guess, he wants you to forgive him."

Bella sighed, pulling in closer. "After taking our child away, now he wants to give it back. But, even if Bruno comes back-"

"When," I correct her.

"When Bruno comes back, I don't know if I'll be able to forgive him. He caused me the biggest pain I could ever feel, that's not something easy to forget."

"That's up to you," I said, taking her hand. "Whatever you choose, I'm here. Always."
