Somethings wrong I can feel it. The way my wolf hasn't shut up and is practically commanding me to stay inside is enough to figure it out.

I could feel Xaviers emotions through the bond, he was nervous. He's been gone for a little over two hours more then he should have been. He said he just had paperwork to do, nothing that would take this long.

I slip past the living room and out the door despite my wolf's protest. I walk in the direction of my mates smell. I could smell a faint unknown scent.

My wolf growls inside of me, urging me to go faster. She didn't like the idea of our mate being around strangers. And to be honest neither did I.

Running at full speed I manage to find him in under a minute. He was in a clearing a few miles away from the pack house. Warriors surrounded both him and an unknown man.

Xavier's shoulders were tense and rigged with tension. I took note of the defensive stance he was in, ready to fight within a second.

I keep hidden in the bushes, listening to the ongoing argument.

"She broke the treaty Xavier, you know our law.." I recognize the voice as Alpha Davis. He was a burly man with a deep voice, that sounded raspy and unclear, and a thick unruly beard.

"No," Xavier cuts in, "She broke your law. And while that may be punishable by death in your pack, that is not how mine is run. As a part of my pack, as well as my mate, you have no authority to touch a hair on her head."

A deep growl rips through his body when Davis makes a move to come closer.

"Xavier my pack has been long under the help and protection of very powerful vampires. They only ask we dispose of the truly dangerous werewolves, which is nothing in the long run. Besides, she's technically a rogue, I'm allowed to punish her as I please." He argues,

"Davis listen to me, you have made a very stupid decision coming here. I could rip you apart in an instant, but I have bigger fish to fry. Leave my territory before...." He stops talking, suddenly he starts sniffing.

For a moment his shoulders untense and he relaxes slightly.

His head whips around, and soon I find him looking directly into my eyes. I give him a sheepish smile, before putting a finger to my lips signalling him to keep quiet.

He rolls his eyes at me, gesturing for me to come and join him. He wanted me beside him during combat, a sign of respect towards me.

I slowly get up from my crouched position, I felt the eyes of the warriors on me. I also felt Davis' eyes on me.

Davis glares at me as I take my rightful place next to Xavier. This was clearly not what he wanted. Xavier pulling me up here meant he accepted me as a mate. It meant I was Luna.

I noticed he didn't have his mate by his side, which meant the rumors were true, she left him. I probably shouldn't have been pleased by that, but I was.

A small smirk finds its way to my lips.

"Davis," I don't nod my head in acknowledgement, which makes him glare. "Get off my territory." I command.

He just laughs in response. He takes a step foward, almost as if he was going to challenge me. Liv growls in anger, and my blood boils. If he thought he could fight me, on my territory, he was sadly mistaken.
