s: y/n?

s: can we talk?

s: again?

s: i didn't mean what i said

s: i'm sorry

you read the texts as you were in the back of one of the FBI's cars, emily at the wheel and jj in the passenger seat. you swallowed down your ego and began to type back,

y/n: i need time please

you sent the text and set your phone on silent, putting it in the back pocket of your black jeans. you decided to go with emily and jj to interview possible witnesses and suspects instead of with reid to the crime scene. after reid had left, you put on a pair of flexible black jeans and a long sleeve white button up. you kept the shirt tucked into your pants tightened around your waist with a leather belt, including a built in gun holster. you wore the same black ankle boots you'd worn before, too worn out to find anything else somewhat fashionable. you put your blonde hair up in a tight ponytail in order to keep it out of your face. you looked out of the tinted window at the buildings passing by, at all the people and cars, thinking about how they all had such different and unique lives that you'll never know.

"y/n-" jj's voice became clearer in your thoughts. blinking slowly, you turned your attention back to jj who's head was turned and looking at you,

"y/n." she said again, an amused look on her face. you raised your eyebrows as you hummed a response,

"mm?" you cleared your throat. she handed you a couple pieces of paper,

"just some info garcia dug up on one of our suspects. he's currently in custody right now on the charge of missing his court date."

you took the papers and glanced at the words. looking back up at jj, you nodded,

"sounds good." you scratched your head, resting the side of your head against your palm as you leaned your elbow against the door of the car. jj turned forward once again. you looked up from the paper's, your eyes seemingly unable to focus on the ink printed words lined against the sheets of paper. you leaned your head back, cursing yourself out in your head.

why couldn't you just leave it? you just HAD to go and say 'what if i don't want to forget?'

shaking your head to yourself in disappointment, you fiddled with the corner of the paper with your fingers. you finally looked up as you felt eyes on you. you looked at the rear view mirror to find jj staring at you with an unconvinced look,

"i can read you like a book." she started. you crossed your arms and chuckled,

"i'm just tired and thinking about stuff." you sighed. jj readjusted in her seat,

"more about thinking about who." she raised an eyebrow.

you rolled your eyes playfully,

"just this one guy. it's complicated. i don't want to go into detail right now, maybe later." you let out a heavy sigh and jj backed off,

"alright, well,  make sure you're ready for today." she gave you a soft smile through the mirror. you gave her a nod, turning to look back at the papers in your lap.

"derek, how do i know if i messed something up with a girl?" spencer asked, turning his head towards derek, who was in the driver's seat. derek's smile grew and he glanced at spencer in the passenger seat for a moment before turning back to keep his eyes on the road,
