within a few hours, you were finished getting ready. you bit your bottom lip in an excited smile. with an exasperated sigh, you checked your phone for the time. the digital clock read '7:30pm'. you nodded to yourself,

"just in time." you muttered, packing up last minute items into a black leather clutch handbag. you were one of the 5 lucky members chosen to be picked up in a limo. you had to admit, it was a little cheesy, but you knew it'd be fun and mysterious. the limo was scheduled to arrive at your home at 7:45pm, holding 4 other passengers. as you rushed down your stairs, you checked the clock on your wall.

7:43. you smirked and waited by your front door, tapping your heel against your wooden floor impatiently. the clock finally struck 7:45, and right on time you heard wheels crunching against the road outside. you opened your door and your eyes sparkled in eagerness as you gazed at the long shiny car. closing your front door behind yourself, you walked down your concrete walkway to the car. you cleared your throat as you opened the door to the car, sitting down in a seat next to a man wearing a crisp black and grey suit. the first thing you noticed was the familiar cologne. you don't know where you'd smelled it before, but it was familiar. you saw the other 3 passengers scattered around the seats farther away from each other. you rubbed the back of your neck before letting out a soft breath through your parted lips.

spencer sat in the limo as they pulled up to the last house, adjusting his silver watch around his wrist. he glanced over his shoulder to look out the windows at the woman walking down her driveway. his eyebrows twitched upwards as he saw the purple dress. it fit around her body like a glove. the purple fabric stretched over her skin like calm ocean waves, smooth and beautiful. he swallowed hard and took one more glance around the limo. the seat next to him was the last open. his body tensed as she opened the door. of course, she took the seat next to him. spencer kept his head low, only lifting it as he took in a breath. her subtle yet beautiful perfume filled his nose with a feminine and floral scent. he fidgeted nervously with his fingers, looking down at the floor.

you kept quiet as you rode in the car, soft jazz music playing in the background. you took one more look at the man sitting next to you. the first thing you were drawn to was his large hands. his fingers delicately brushed against his silver watch, fidgeting with the clip. his pants hugged his toned thighs, his long yet fit body hidden under his suit. you noticed his sharp and defined jawline as you dragged your eyes up his body. his hazel eyes sparkled, partly hidden under his mask. your eyes continued to curiously wander him. you blinked slowly as you turned your head forwards, still trying to pinpoint the familiar smell.

the car came to a stop in front of a luxury hotel, the malachite inn. it's expensive walls towered over the car, curving in an elegant and tasteful way. you tensed in surprise as the door to the car opened. you made a soft 'oh' noise, stepping out. you held your gown up from the floor, trying not to get the trim of the expensive fabric dirty. the concrete was lined with a red carpet and you rolled your eyes playfully,

"god this is cheesy.." you muttered under your breath. you eventually stepped onto the curb and onto the carpet, your heart pounding with elation. as you walked into the lobby, you noticed the signs pointing down the hall. of course, you followed them to reach the ballroom. the sound of your heels clicking against the marble floor rang in your hears. you stepped through the wooden entrance doors and looked around the room with a soft gasp of amusement. the ceiling was lined with what looked like renaissance artwork, as well as the walls. red velvet curtains draped along the tan marble hall, dim lights highlighting the room. the doors were hidden on the top of the stairs that went out to the right and left, curving around the room. you took a few steps forward and put your hands on the railing of the stairs to look down at the people gathering below. so many people were below you, enjoying drinks, talking, dancing, enjoying themselves. you stood up straight as you felt someone behind you. turning your head over your shoulder, you noticed the same man you sat next to in the limo standing next to you. his attention wasn't fixed on you, though, it was fixed on the people below,
