MY FAMILY

They've seen my cuts
They've seen my pain
But all they did was look away

They saw my mask
They believed my lies
they never thought to ask
About the cuts along my thighs

Don't they hear my cries at night?
Or see my sleepless eyes

Don't they care that I don't eat?
Or about the secrets that I keep?

They don't see my battle scars
Or the blood all on my sheets

They don't see my cracking mask
Or the demons reaching out

To take my very soul
And everything that I know.

They tell how much they care
About their precious little daughter

But if my Family really cared
My demons wouldn't exist
In the first place.
