"I don't know what you were doing," Lia said as Eliza rifled through a rack of outfits.
What were the two doing? Well, it was Valentines' Day, and Eliza had decided that the time was perfect to set up her friend with Kai, the fire ninja.
A week or so ago, Eliza and Lia had 'joked' about asking their crushes out with songs. And that gave the air ninja the perfect idea.
"How about this one?" Eliza asked, holding up an outfit.

Lia sighed. "It's cute, I guess."
Eliza grinned. "This one it is!"
The two paid and left, going back to the monastery, hurrying past the others, who were busy hanging up decorations.
"Explain to me why we're doing this again," Lia said when they got to her room.
Eliza rolled her eyes. "Because you obviously have a crush on Kai and I can't take any more of your oblivious flirting. Neither can the rest of the team."
"The rest of the t- what?!"
"Nevermind. Anyway, I got a new sound system set up in the living room area," Eliza said, pulling out a box from underneath her bed. She tossed it to Lia.
"A... microphone?"
"A microphone," the air ninja confirmed.
"What am I singing?" Lia asked. Internally, she was also asking why did I agree to this?
Eliza pulled out her phone and started playing a track Lia knew all too well.
You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset She's going off about something that you said Cause she doesn't get your humour like I do
Eliza pressed pause and smirked. "You know that song, don't you?"
"Yeah... but why that one?"
"'Cause I saw you dancing and singing along to it."
"You did what? Where? When?"
"I was on... a recon mission, happened to fly past your room. You left the window open. I could hear you. And see you."
"You sneaky little-"
Eliza waved that comment off. "So, perfect fit, am I right?"
"There's no talking you out of this, is there?"
"Nope!"

An hour had passed, and Lia was preparing for the biggest humiliation of her life. Eliza had gone ahead and set up a stupidly huge speaker in the living room, and now Lia was waiting 'in the wings' as Eliza had called it.
"All ninja, especially Kai, please report to the living room. Over and out!" Eliza's voice announced over the loudspeaker system.
Lia swore under her breath as she heard footsteps passing the room she was in, heading towards the living room.
"Is there an emergency?" Kai asked.
Eliza shook her head. "Nope."
"Then why did you call us here?" Nya asked.
"You'll see," Eliza said, "Lia!"
Lia walked out into the room, holding her microphone, which was luckily wireless, in her hand.
Eliza pressed a button and the music started playing. Lia raised the microphone to her lips.

By the end of the song, Lia had ended up right in front of the fire ninja. She smiled breathlessly (and nervously) and put down the microphone.
Everyone was silent for a few seconds, save a whistle from Eliza.
Lia put the microphone up again. "So, Kai, will you be my Valentine?"
He was quick to respond. "Yes!"
The two hugged, and that was when everyone burst out into cheers and claps.
