Your Taunts, And What They Bring

51 4 2

The yells and taunts

Hurt my ears

Their harsh sound leaves a burning,

Within my heart

Cower and flee,

Away from these words

For, no happiness shall they bring

They raise their sword-

In triumph,

Victory is theirs

And only for them to see the pain

Lingering in thee

They dance in battle

Full of unnecessary taunts and teases

You throw your sword eagerly

But reckless are you, my friend

Do you think that your tricks-

And blows

Have not been used before?

By you must I mention

The words play a record

Over and over again-

Do they play

My wall broken long ago,

Leaving my soul unprotected

Has caused a shell of me,

To be left behind

But what is left of me

Has already felt the blow

Of these words

So only do memories of pain-

Do they bring

The new taunts

Hurt the most

For, they bring new pain

This pain,

These blows

I have not already felt

New pain do they bring

New sadness do they bring

New hatred to they bring

But happiness do they take.
