What the Eye Does Not See

What do you see?

A girl that has no concerns,

A girl who’s world is of perfection

A girl that feels no sadness,

A girl that has no fury,

A girl that feels no agony to cry about

What has yet to be apparent,

Many things do our eyes fail to see.

The eye sees all to be perceived,

Or so they say,

The eye does not see the pain devouring me,

With no one to cleave to,

And no one to hold,

No one to care

For this girl floating in the wind,

Detached from emotions,

This girl no longer senses the agony,

Filling her soul

With each beat of her heart,

And each breath she takes,

She falls deeper into the abyss of despair,

With no one to catch her,

As she falls,

Endlessly,

An Infinite amount of pain

Waiting for her once she grasps the end

What do you see?

A girl that has no concerns,

A girl who’s world is of perfection

A girl that feels no sadness,

A girl that has no fury,

A girl that feels no agony to cry about

What has yet to be made apparent,

Many things do our eyes fail to see.

When my eyes connected with yours did you see?

Did you see the pain lurking within my soul?

You turned away,

Allowing me to fall,

Into the never ending abyss of despair,

The girls sorrow filled eyes

Connecting with yours,

Did nothing to persuade,

Your remorseless heart,

When she cried out in pain

A grin appeared on your face,

You turned and looked the other way

Is there no such thing as a soul?

Lingering about in this hopeless world

Don’t cause me the heartache,

Leave if thoughts of pity cross your mind,

Leave if kindness is not of your nature,

Leave if drifting souls are souls not to be helped,

But, please stay oh my dear,

Stay in my heart and hold me tight,

Comfort my soul,

And pity me not,

For there are many things that the eye cannot see,

Things that are only made for you and me,

When you crush my soul,

Set me free,

Blowing in the wind,

For none to see,

But to understand.

What the eye cannot see,

You must understand what the eye can see,

And the vulnerabilities it shelters the soul from

What do you see?

A girl that has no concerns,

A girl who’s world is of perfection

A girl that feels no sadness,

A girl that has no fury,

A girl that feels no agony to cry about

What has yet to be made apparent,

Many things do our eyes fail to see.

Pain is not something to be seen but felt,

Sorrow is not perceived with the eyes,

But the heart,

Anger and love are the moral enemies,

Pairing with one another,

But only felt by the heart,

We all are born blind to these things

Some of us learn to see these things

And some continue to walk around blind and oblivious,

To the world hiding in front of their eyes,

Their heart caged and protected,

From the chaotic world surrounding them

Sometimes,

A lucky person

Drags one of the oblivious

Into the world we all know so well,

And in return

That person steals their heart,

Anchors their soul to the earthen ground,

That they were so far from

The confusion becomes clarity,

The anger becomes love,

The pain becomes happiness,

For those lucky ones,

While the rest of us try

To survive
