   Once upon a time...

That's how fairytales are supposed to start right? At least that's how our lead would like to pretend her's started when in reality it was anything but. You see, once upon a time leads the reader to believe that what they are about to embark on is a story of promise and romance, princes on stallions and princesses in towers, evil villains and heroic protagonists, a story that promises a happy ending...

For a while, our story didn't seem like it would turn out that way.

Sure, there was a princess who escaped her tower for a night and managed to meet a rank of rowdy Lost Boys being taken advantage of by a villainous and power hungry king. There were more antagonists than one, the princess sometimes wondering if one of them was herself. Promises were made and broken at the same time as romance was soaring to life with death imminent along each turning page. This story started with once upon a time, but didn't seem to have the end in sight.

It only makes sense that the princess's story would be destined for failure considering she was the product of her mother, a wondrous beauty in search of her beast. Only after they gave birth to our struggling protagonist... or perhaps antagonist, even the princess herself couldn't tell, did this mother realize that her worst fears were coming to light. The father of her own little Wendy Darling was no beast but a terrosome Gaston.

However, the kind young mother and her chapter with Gaston, or in this case Jane and Charles Granger, is simply the prologue.

Our story truly begins with our princess of many aliases: Wendy, Georgia Rose, Golden Girl, Beauty, Beastie, or more commonly known as Belle Olivia Granger.

After sailing off on a trail of pixie dust that she had to create for herself, she unknowingly landed in Neverland for a permanent stay with a green eyed Peter Pan and his Lost Boys. Although it remains important to note that each Lost Boy was a prince in his own right, on a journey of their own that young Belle would play a role in. After all, she was their striking Wendy in her dress of pure white with hair so dark it rivaled the night while still shining bronze during the day.

   What an angel she was.

In true Disney fashion, one of the boys fell for the girl that was never meant to be his, their difference in age acting as nothing, not even a blip on their radar, for she was just a girl and he was just a boy asking her to love him. However, for our naive young Wendy and our equally as immature Lost Boy, their relationship was written in the stars for other reasons that would lead to a friendship so great that tales would be told of it through folklore for years to come. This boy was Prince Charming trying to put a glass slipper on the foot of a girl who it was never meant to fit.

Prince Charming, our lovely Louis, found the strength to keep pushing through life because of Belle, finally finding his Cinderella in someone else.

In fact, all of our Lost Boys found a love to call their own, a love they spent so long watching forge just as quickly as it broke between Peter Pan and Wendy. Through magic carpet rides, trips down rabbit holes, and kisses to wake beautiful girls with midnight hair and snow white skin, there was love. Louis placed the glass slipper on Caroline Sawyer, Zayn took Gigi for a whirl through a whole new world, Niall chased a white rabbit to find Ashe, and Liam planted his lips against Maya's to awake her from a poison apple curse.

Now that only leaves Peter and Wendy- Harry and Belle.

This is how fairytales start. Our lead is me, Belle Granger, and this is my story- my fucking fairytale. Once upon a time led me on a journey of pinky promises and car rides up canyons, green eyed boys and golden girls, silly little frat boys and eccentric boy bands, a story that got its happy ending.

For Harry and I, it was always written in the stars to turn out this way. Through every sunrise and sunset, every gust of wind through the trees, every rain storm that translated to tears tumbling down a freckled or dimpled face, every small action from a clock ticking to the world turning has led us here

Here is wearing a pretty pink dress with Louis on my arm as he walked me down the aisle to meet my Peter Pan, flanked on all sides by my fellow pixies and his fellow group of ruffians. Here is celebrating all we had been through with friends and family as we danced all night to the best song ever. Here is running through the garden ten years after saying 'I do' with Harry who refused to lose me.

He changed the iconic story of Peter losing Wendy, and instead left Neverland with her to grow up and raise a family.

We all left Neverland to raise families.

Our beautiful girls, Jane Anne and Robin Rose.

Zayn and Gigi still cherish their gorgeous Inez.

Louis and Caroline adore young Johannah.

Niall and Ashe chase two little blonde twins, a boy and a girl: Wilson and Summer.

Liam and Maya first gave birth to a daughter named Henry before having a son named Michael.

Of course Freddie and Bear are not to be forgotten.

One big happy family. This is all I've ever wanted, and now it's all I ever wish to keep.

The night I escaped my tower, I met my greatest love and four best friends who will follow me through each life my soul chooses to live. I was never the antagonist, not even the protagonist, just a girl trying to find her place in this world. Promises were made and broken so that stronger bonds could be formed at the same time as a calamitous love story with a magical ending was being written along each turning page. This story started with once upon a time...

"Georgia Rose," I hear his voice call to me, carried on the wings of the summertime butterflies that belong to his creation. My Bunny, my green eyed boy, my love, my Harry. Even after all this time, our hearts still beat for each other with just as much fervor as if we just met, with just as much intensity as the flapping wings of the very butterflies that seem to embody our entire relationship.

He is mine and I am his, however I will no longer say for infinity. Someone I love very much once told me that putting a time stamp on something as precious as our love was wrong, so therefore I haven't done it since.

I am simply in love with Harry.

Signing off my journal, I close the pink cover and stand from the bench, the distinct sound of children laughing reaching my ears- one of my new favorite sounds. I run my hands over my white dress that falls to my calves and tuck my hair behind my ears, a smile already forming before I've even seen him.

And that very smile only grows when I turn over my shoulder and see him standing there, hands in his pockets and curls tousled, magenta lips curved into a smile and tan skin of his cheeks pulled taut with a pink blush and subtle gleam, green eyes that swallow me whole.

This story started with once upon a time, and comes to a close with...

   I'll be seeing you.

   All the love, Belle.

   The End.
