Chapter 10: What Happened To Perfect?

Song: All Too Well- Taylor Swift

"The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is and the future less resolved than it will be."

All this time when I thought it would be a really difficult time to go through. It felt easier with Adrian by my side. Well his parents disowned him and he chose me instead of them. I should be feeling happy that I have someone who's always going to be there for me but I don't I feel horrible. Well who wouldn't? I basically took him from his parents. So every day instead of him going straight home, he goes to my home. Our home.

His existence was wonderful, his presence felt real, his words rolled off his tongue like sweet honey and the way he acted, it made himself so him- so Adrian, which was great.

The time we spent together the past weeks was extraordinary, he'd make me tea and bring it to my bed where he sat at the edge just staring blankly at me. What I would do to know what's going in that mind of his.

But I was lucky, I was lucky I had someone like him, occasionally and I mean mostly every every couple of weeks I break down just drowning in my tears only for Adrian to wipe them and comfort me.

"We're going out!" Adrian stated happily, while putting on his coat. The weather right now was very cold. It was December the frost appeared on the glass along with crystal snow covered the grass, shining brightly as the sun shone on them.

I think that I really did gain something special. Adrian hadn't actually declared me as his girlfriend, we're just friends but more and we both knew it. What was separating us from that barrier to relationship is something I even didn't know.

Maybe the commitment for him was to hard to handle? Maybe it was just me. But I was happy as we are now, him by my side is all I need.

I nodded at him in agreement smiling at him happily. "Where to?"

"That is a surprise." He replied cocking a grin at me and grabbing his car keys from the kitchen bench.

"Aw you know I hate surprises." I whined as I put on my boots that came half way across my calf.

"Everyone likes surprises its the suspense that keeps the mind worried." He mischievously said as he opened the refrigerator door, grabbing the slice of yesterday's pizza.

"Hey hey hey! That's mine, back off."

I ran up to him and snatched the plate off him. Grinning wickedly as I take a bite of the pizza and wince as the cold pizza touched my teeth.

He crossed his arms and took the plate off me I couldn't help but chuckle at his childish actions. Or maybe I was the childish one.

Unexpectedly he snaked his arms around my waist and twisted me around. We were dancing and laughing happily. The smile on his face grew bigger and bigger as I try to get out of his grip.

"I want to finish my pizza Adrian." I whine as I lengthen my hand out trying to reach the kitchen bench where my pizza sat their all alone.

But he continued to sway me side to side and spin me around and I couldn't help but dance with him. We were dancing under the refrigerator light as he stopped and pulled down the blinds of the kitchen windows down letting the refrigerator light shine on us and the rest of the room stayed dark.
