Chapter 9

"So... governor Sae Joon, how may I help you?" Tae Joo asked as he walked next to him, Sae Joon stood up immediately and bowed

"I just wanted to tell you that your troops already controlled the port and the city, I wanted to greet you too your highness" Sae Joon replied

"It is a pleasure to meet you too, now I suppose that we may land, am I right secretary" 

"Yes your highness"

"Good, I think that a good walk will help" Tae Joo said smiling, the secretary nodded and the ship started its way to the port. 

A large crowd was there waiting for the prince to come, the guards weren't calm at allm all the efforts put by the troops that landed at night were enough? Even a single mistake could mean the last day of his highness

"Your highness, the sedan chair is ready" a servant said

"No, thank you, I will take a walk, the palace isn't that far, am I right governor Sae Joon?" Tae Joo said

The governor nodded, Kang Gook came closer to the prince and with a serious and worried tone said:

"Are you sure it is a good idea your highness? We found Ji Tae dead a few minutes ago... and there are still riots on the island, I don't think that you calculated the risks" 

"My dear Kang Gook, I'm surely sad because of Ji Tae's death... but you saw him yourself, his wrists were cut... he killed himself... and we have to deal with it. These people already waited enough, waiting on the flagship for the whole night was a mistake... they think that we don't trust them... didn't you think it was a little weird that the governor came that early? And didn't you notice how young he is? There's something wrong... but we have to pretend that we didn't notice this... and that those were just some... silly precautions" Tae Joo said before getting off the ship. 

He walked slowly and smiled at his subjects who bowed and celebrated his arrival, the governor followed him, he tried to talk to him about the way but the prince wasn't paying attention as a young boy gave him some little flowers he probably found at the edge of the street

"These... are for you, your highn... high... ummm..." the boy stuttered

"Aww, thank you, these flowers are just beautiful! Thank you again" the prince said before he stopped in another crowded street

"Are you sure this is the way to the palace governor?" Tae Joo asked

"I was trying to tell you that your highness but you just kept accepting gifts... follow me please" Sae Joon asked, the prince looked at the people who looked a little disappointed since he wasn't going to greet them too in order to change his direction so he stopped for a moment

"I'm really sorry but there are a lot of things to do, I'm sorry that I wasn't able to greet you all, but I will be glad to meet you at the palace if you have some problems to talk about." 

They continued walkign until the prince came closer to the governor

"Governor Sae Joon... may I ask you how is it possible that a young guy like you became the chief of this province?" 

"my uncle was the previous governor but he died during the revolts so I received this honor." 

They continued walking silently until they reached the palace. That day wasn't as busy and frantic as the prince thought, Kang Gook remained with him the whole time so he met the few officers that came to greet his highness.

"Is anyone else coming Kang Gook?" Tae Joo asked 

"As I can see from the papers the governor gave me... nobody else is going to bother you your highness." Kang Gook replied

"Ok... I think that I need a moment to rest..." 

"Of course your highness." Kang Gook replied, the secretary was about to leave when the prince stopped him

"Ummm... Kang Gook?" 

"Yes your highness? How may I help you?" 

"Do you know if the servants already brought everything from the ship?" 

"yes your highness, the captain told me so before the meeting with the delegate of the royal treasury, he said that the music room was ready and that they were still working on the library" Kang Gook replied

Tae Joo spent a few hours in the music room, it was already dark outside but it looked like the prince wasn't about to stop. At midnight, Kang Gook woke up and got out of his room, he noticed the lights from the music room and the soft sound of the clavichord, he started walking, he was about to open the door when the music suddenly stopped.
