I stepped into the crowded cafeteria, ready to take on the world.

    Not really.

More,  I quickly ran to our regular table and started eating before anyone could notice me.  However, that didn’t last long.

“Hey Han,” Marcy plopped down in front of me, oblivious to my hostile auroa.

“Hey,” I muttered, eating a handful of trail mix.

“I got fired today.  Again,” Marcy shrugged, and picked at her salad.

I swallowed some raisons.  “Wasn’t that like your third job this month?”

She nodded, and I shook my head.

Marcy could never keep a job.  But at least she’s trying, I give her props.  It’s hard for her too, sometimes.  Mostly because she can only work certain hours, because of her sister.

I know I wouldn’t be ably to do that.

    “Where’s Roni?”  Marcy was hesitant.

    I shrugged.

“She doesn’t like him, you know,” she whispered.

    I lowered my mix.

Marcy blinked.  “You didn’t think she did, right?”

My gaze dropped and I licked my lips.

    “Hannah!”  Her voice was accusing.

“What was I suppose to think?”  They were together!”  Marcy just stared at me.  “What?” I demanded.

“They can’t even talk without you breaking your trust with Veronica.  What has he done to you?”  Marcy’s face was disgusted.

    I closed my eyes.  “I don’t know.”
