If you were wondering about what illness Clara has, its a illness where she isn't in any pain but her body is slowly dying. its not very common but since the victims and infected only live so long (16-25) they don't know much.
In regards to her scholarship, she is very intelligent and the reason she got into Brisbane wasn't just her illness. She isn't a mary sue; I plan on giving all the characters depth because they are inspired by our friends !
