“Kasi Ate… ah… we’ve done it. And I’m scared that I might be pregnant.”

Sandra froze when she heard those words. She didn’t know what to say. All she knew was she wanted to hug her. That feeling grew more when tears started falling from Guia’s eyes.

She immediately embraced her and tried to comfort her. “Shhh… it’s going to be alright.”

“Ate, I’m scared.”

“Are you sure that you’re pregnant? Nagpregnancy test ka na ba?”

“Hindi pa Ate. Irregular ang period ko pero based on the past months that I’ve had my period, dapat this week ay nagkaroon na ako.”

“Alam na ba ng boyfriend mo ito?”

“Hindi pa rin. I haven’t told anyone yet. Ikaw pa lang. Ate, what am I going to do? I’m not ready for this,” ang humihikbing sabi ni Guia.

“Shhhh… ‘wag muna tayong magpanic. Let’s make sure first kung buntis ka ba talaga o hindi. Kailangan magpatingin ka na sa doctor o kaya kung gusto mo lumabas tayo ngayon. Let’s go to the drugstore para makabili tayo ng pregnancy kit. Ako ang bibili so don’t worry.”

“Ate ‘wag na. Baka malaman pa ni Kuya na lumabas tayo. I don’t want to get into trouble.”

“Sige ganito na lang. I will buy one ‘pag hindi ko kasama si Greg and then kung hindi ka pa rin magkaperiod by Friday ay bumalik ka dito. Do it by then. Kaya mo pa bang maghintay ng isang linggo?”

“Oo Ate. Sana hindi na kailangan ang pregnancy test.”

That night Sandra held Guia in her arms and prayed that she wasn’t pregnant.

“Babe, minsan lang kami maging free ni Guia pareho kaya hayaan mo na kami. Ayaw mo nun close na close na talaga kami. By the time na magpakakasal na tayo, you don’t have to worry about me and her getting along.”
