Chapter 4

(Ace’s POV)

“I have to do WHAT!” She screamed a little too loudly drawing the attention of everyone around us.

“Well you’re the one who said you would do it” I reminded her.

“B..But I didn’t know what I was agreeing too” she stuttered. And pouted a little

I have to admit that was very cute. I’m glad to see she’s back to normal when she first stepped out of the class I thought something might have happened. She looked a little shaky on her feet. I couldn’t help but wonder what Marcus had said to her. It pissed me off to think he might have upset her in any way.

“Ace” she whined. Snapping me out of my thoughts.

“What babygirl?” I asked.

“Are you o.k.? You seem a little distracted” She asked.

“I guess you’re just rubbing off on me.” I stated.

For a moment she looked to be confused them understanding dawn on her.

“That is so not funny!” she snapped. Turning around and walking off.

I couldn’t help the laugh that left me. Sometimes she seemed to be walking around in a permanent state of distraction. I couldn’t help but watch her as she walked away. I have been spending the last week just hanging out with her and I am really starting to like her. I just hope that Marcus will agree to let her stay. I saw the way he was staring at her during the class I have to admit I got a little jealous. I thought when I talked to him yesterday he understood that I have feeling for her. Guess I will have to be a little clearer before she shows up tonight.

“Hey Abs, wait up” I called jogging to catch up to her.

When I was by her side I put my arm around her shoulder and continued to walk at her pace.

“Well, I guess we need to go shopping, you up for it?” I asked

“Are you kidding me I love shopping.” She squealed.

“But what are we shopping for?” she asked a moment later.

Well it was now or never.

“Your outfit for the bonfire of course.” I stated.

As I watched her eyes widened in surprise then narrowed after she figured out what I was talking about I knew my best plan of action was to run. Hey, I’m not crazy I know when enough is enough. Besides I have two sisters when they get that look it never ends well at least for me. I broke away from her but couldn’t help the laugh that escaped my lips.

“I am so going to get you for this Ace Turner.” She yelled behind me.

(Abby’s POV)

I watched as Ace jogged away still laughing about the whole bet I agreed to do. I guess no matter what I was stuck. I would do the bet whether or not I wanted to because I wouldn’t let them think I was a chicken. Phh! Who was I kidding? I am not looking forward to this at all.

Since I didn’t have any other classes today I decided that I would head home to get ready. I would be meeting Marcus later to see what he has determined about me staying.

Heading out to my car I couldn’t help but smile as I thought about what Marcus will say on Saturday. When he sees me I have no doubt he will be angry.

“Well guess what mister Alpha mate or no mate No one controls me.” I murmured to myself as I was unlocking the door to my car.

“You say something?” Spinning around I notice this very handsome you man but I could tell by his scent he was a werewolf.
